To be fair...
A) In August, when Dune: Messiah claimed December 18, 2026 - the same day as the purported Rey movie - that was a huge sign that even rival studios assumed the Rey movie was getting pushed.
B) Then, we already basically knew this was happening once it was announced last month that writer Steven Knight had left the project and they were looking for a replacement.
C) The Mandalorian & Grogu is still on track for a May 22, 2026 release. That, and it was always odd that they were trying to release two Star Wars movies in 2026 anyway.

I didn't need these feels today.
I literally used to operate the sideline jumbotron camera at Kyle and was desperate for anything even remotely interesting happening in the stands. You quickly run out of kids/corps/crazies to shoot, and I would have absolutely jumped at the chance to put someone in an Aggie-themed Mando costume up there. In fact, I was at the LSU game last month and saw them put a random student in a crappy Batman costume on the jumbotron and everyone loved it. A badass, custom-made Mando suit would kill.
Maybe I'll wear it to a non-conference game next year when it isn't so crowded. We shall see, I am still hesitant.

Totally agree, though maybe wait till at least October so you don't become the person who passed out from heat exhaustion at an Aggie game in Mandalorian armor.

My senior year, a costume store in BCS went out of business. A buddy and I went there before Halloween. He got a Nicholson-era Joker costume (all purple with the makeup) and I got a Vader costume. - pants, shirt, cape, helmet, lightsaber, gloves. Considering my 6'7" Vader height, it was just a glorious thing.
I changed into it at school at Reed McDonald where the Batt was located and rode the elevator down to the basement. The doors opened and Dr. Self, the head of the journalism department was there. He took a huge step back and say "Whaaa?" I pointed a finger at him and stalked off without saying a word.

I would advise anyone who likes Palps to read or listen to "Darth Plagueis" by James Luceno. No longer canon, but an amazing job of pulling together a ton of history and making Plagueis and Palps relationship just fascinating.
