I must be the only one who thought Obi-Wan was a decent show.
I liked it as well.
I enjoyed it to a point. It could have been far better but it was not the absolute dog**** show that many seem to think.
it had a few good moments….but way too many terrible ones for it to be considered good

Well I don't recall anything in it such as what caused me to not even consider watching The Acolyte. But with Star Wars, I generally consider it "good" if I am compelled to rewatch it frequently. So obviously all of the first 6 movies. Rogue One. I have rewatched all of the sequels but only because they were on and I was done watching the grass grow. Regarding the TV productions, I've rewatched all of The Mandalorian, and will be doing the same with the first season of Andor prior to season 2. I think Ahsoka was pretty damn good. I have no desire to rewatch The Book of Boba Fett ever again. I can see me rewatching Obi Wan but to this point have not.

Right back at you with the Tony Stark eye roll.

I would ask you what was "in" The Acolyte but you obviously have no idea.

I sure am occupying a lot of space in your noggin.

My eyes work. I saw many previews. I also read lots of horse**** from the blithering idiots who made it to know that it was not going to be an entertaining experience for me. But I'm surmising from the eye rolling gif that you obviously know better and only your opinion should matter, especially with regard to entertainment such as Star Wars.

If you don't like that someone exists with a different life outlook and opinion than you, pound some sand; I'll keep on with my own viewpoints on this and all other things and not giving a crap what you think.

I posted a gif and a one sentence comment, clearly I'm obsessed.

The show wasn't good, but none of whatever you thought it was about was in there. Which was my point.

Checks post … where did I post my exact thought about what was in the show? You can guess but it is only a guess.

I mean, you surmised from a gif that I think know better, only my opinion matters and I don't like that you exist sooo…

But to each their own, have a good one.

Han was on his way to pay him back when the Empire got in the way
Luke tried to bargain with to pay off Han's debt and free him
Then Jabba tried to kill them all and enslave Leia.

From Jabba's point of view, Star Wars is the story of him finally picking on the wrong person. In other words, FAFO

I got my girlfriend to watch Star Wars this weekend. I started her off on Revenge of the Sith, and today we saw Force Awakens.

She says she hates to admit it, but I was right, it's pretty good.

You didn't want to show her the original trilogy? You know, the ones that are actually good.

So you showed her the two of the three movies where the backstory for everything is the most crucial with her having no backstory at all?

Thought ROTS was good when it came out, it is almost unwatchable now. I'll say the changes Lucas made to Jedi are bad, you have to watch the original.

The original ROTJ is still not great. Ewoks still featured heavily, they still defeat the Empire with sticks and stones, Han is still neutered and basically a non-character, the entire Jabba sequence is still way too long...

The nostalgia that prequel "apologists" like myself get accused of having towards the prequels, applies just as much for people who love Return of the Jedi.

Jedi is not perfect and it's third out of the original three, but it has a lot going for it, including the best scene in Star Wars. Nothing in the prequels comes close.

ROTJ is great. Gets hated on because it's direct comps are 2 of the best movies of all time (SW and ESB).

  • Jabba scene is not too long, I've never heard that gripe before. It was a neat way to get the gang all back together. There are a lot of great parts about the whole Jabba intro plot to ROTJ that would suck to have missed out on.
  • The Han arch is awesome. He's not neutered the whole time. You say that like he was in carbonite the whole movie. Jungle general Han was really cool. Here's a guy who went from smuggler in SW only looking out for his own ass, to becoming a military leader in ROTJ and commanding a big operation. (Please read this with the Collinsworth "Here's a guy" intonation).
  • Ewoks - Meh. I get the gripe but it's not that big of a deal that ruins the movie or anything. They are 100X better than Jar Jar.

I've actually probably watched ROTJ the most of any SW movie. As a teenager with it on VCR I couldn't get enough of the battle scenes. Epic space battle to end it all with the A-Wings, B-Wings, and everything in between showing up and Lando piloting the Falcon.

I can understand not liking the Ewoks, in general. I'm not a huge fan of the part in their village about to cook Han, but it's a little levity, and sets the scene for their assistance of the rebels.

What I don't understand is the complaint about their weapons vs the empire, as if history isn't full of instances of a technologically superior force getting whipped by a less advanced one. Especially with the element of surprise.

This. For instance, the American Revolution. Ragtag farmers going up against the biggest and best army and navy in the world.

Ewoks are essentially the Fremen from Dune.

I get the Ewok hate, but the 3rd act rocks even with Ewoks beating AT-STs with a stick. The attempted seduction of Luke is some of the best Star Wars there is.
