Honestly, Kylo doesn't even cross my mind when I think of the sequel trilogy. He's such a petulant, horribly written character that I guess I just can't image anyone thinking he's cool or compelling or whatever. That, and Rey simply seems far more liked/discussed, is crazy popular at Disneyland/World, and as Rex Racer just said, is a massive hit among little girls (who, admittedly, aren't the majority audience).

Regardless, my point was that Grogu is, at the very least, a top Star Wars character in the Disney era, to the point where his inclusion warrants mention in the title.

Wait, you think Ray is the most popular Disney era Star Wars character?

Cause I think it's gotta be Kylo Ren, and by a significant margin.

I don't. Little girls LOVE Ray.

Sure, but boys love Kylo, and there's a lot more boy Star Wars fans than girls.

You're not actually suggesting Rey is a well-written character though...right?

A poll posted on the official Star Wars website on December 13th, 2019 posed the question, "Who do you most want to see in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?" As of March 17th, 2020, 64,745 votes have been cast. And 86% of those votes went towards Kylo Ren. 4% went to Rey, 2% went to both Rose Tico and Babu Frik, and 1% went to Leia, Finn, Poe, Lando, Chewie, and R2-D2.

No. I've said many times that she was terribly written as well. It's just that Ridley's performance jumps off the screen far more for me, was more endearing, winsome, etc.

On the heels of one of the most hated movies of the franchise, after his character got embarrassed by Luke, a subsection of very online Star Wars fans looking forward to seeing what Kylo would do next - more so than what Rey would do next - doesn't exactly translate to overall popularity across the entire five/six years of the sequel trilogy. And sure, he's probably more popular in terms of toy sales or whatever, but I would still argue that Rey had more of an overall impact on pop culture.

Not trying to nitpick every point you make, and I agree that Rey is more endearing, but I just can't agree with her performance jumping off the screen more.

Honestly, Adam Driver's performance was probably the highlight of the entire trilogy for me.

I'm with you and give Kyle and Driver the edge over Rey and Daisy.

Both had much, much more potential as characters in the ST but neither amounted to much. I'd have to go back and watch all 3 ST movies to really form an opinion but I don't think I care much to do that. I can actually hardly remember what Rey even does in the last movie.

Plus, you gotta give Kylo the edge in the name category, Kylo Ren is a badass name compared to Rey Palpatine.

What about self-adopted names?

Does the StarWars Galaxy not have the internet? Why would a parent send their force sensitive child to go learn from Rey? She was never really trained. The little training she did get was from someone who trained their own nephew so poorly that he thought about killing him which turned the nephew into a new galactic Menace. Not to mention, Rey comes from Palpatine who was the worst thing for the Galaxy in centuries....
no thanks Rey-Kwan Do, i'll send my kid to some other training, maybe that small green guy is taking new students.

To be fair, Luke trained with Yoda for what seemed like a couple weeks, tops.

Cobra Kai has taught me that that is approximately how long it takes to master the martial arts, so this all checks out.

I'm operating under the assumption that every other martial arts instructor in the Valley is just incredibly incompetent as their students who have trained for years routinely get whipped by some kids who picked up karate over the summer.

The podrace isn't really done justice unless you're in the theater imo. Especially for Burtt's amazing sound design.

Im assuming the CGI Yoda will be in? Or the original puppet?

Im looking forward to the soundtrack, the final fight and the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan opening. I could have done with 33% less pod race.

You know, after Jar Jar

I'm sure most adults hated it, and most kids loved it.

They must've done something right though, since Best Buy used that scene to demo their TV's and sound systems until at least 2003.

Every time I watch TPM I fall into the Jar Jar trap, where the first 10 minutes is fantastic, Jedi action, a little taste of Darth Sidious, and then it all goes south and you're like Oh yeah ... that's why.

Was it updated to puppet in Blu-ray? I don't think I'm aware of this change. Or was it other direction?
