Coruscant scenes

Not counting the 3-episode mini-arc for Mando in BOBF, on March 1, 2023 it will have been 803 days since we last saw a Mandalorian episode.

That shot alone would get me to watch. It would be sweet to have seen it for the first time in the show, but its a quintessential shot you use for a trailer

Pretty sure the droids we see in that room will end up being a cell of the Droid Gotra, a sort of droid underworld force.

B1 droids is a nice little easter egg. This show has not been shy with the prequel nods.

As far as ‘making fans watch something for a trailer’, the funniest in the Star Wars category are The O.C. and Meet Joe Black.

We sat through it because they promised to show the Ep I trailer again at the end. A lot of guys squirming through the movie. In our screening, a dude yelled “hit him again!”

This is really dating myself, but..

My dad, brother, and I went to see The Waterboy because the theater promised to show the trailer before and after the movie.

A friend of mine was supposed to go with, but he went his family to a basketball game at UH, because it was Clyde Drexler's debut as coach, which worked out great.

The next day, I went to my friend's office - he worked for a college sports website, and helped him download the Quicktime video of the trailer. The video was about the size of my thumb and took about 2-1/2 hours to download. We'd watch it one frame as a time as it slowly downloaded on the modem.

When Attack of the Clones was coming out, they put out the odd trailer called "Breathing" before the teaser in front of some movies. I was working in an office with a woman who was straight obsessed with Hayden Christiensen before most of the rest of the world even knew who he was. She and I drove to the mall on the day the Breathing trailer came out - they didn't release it online for some reason - bought 2 tickets to Monsters Inc., watched the trailer, got up and went back to work.

In the day or two after AOTC came out, my brother told me that Yoda got into a lightsaber fight. I couldn't believe it.

(I was a moderate Star Wars fan at the time in comparison to today, since TPM was the start of my fandom. Somehow my brother who is not even a sci-fi guy saw it before me.)

Decided to hop on whatever P2P we were using at the time (Kazaa maybe?) and looked for a clip of the Yoda fight. (I was 13 at the time and coudn't just hop in my car and drive to the theater.) Sure enough, I found the clip and downloaded it. Probably had to download all day.

When I eventually watched the video, I got pretty hyped from just that tiny, low quality video with the audience going nuts. I must have watched it 50 times.

Eventually I saw the movie with my cousin and loved it.

Funny enough, I vividly remember sitting in front of a group of girls who were also seemingly obsessed with Hayden Christensen.

So, all these episode 2 stories remind me that I read the novelization before the movie came out. When you watch the movie, in the scene above, when he falls you get the sense that Padme is like "Anakin are you ok?"

In the book, though, she's all "holy sh-t my entire world I'm trying to build might have just crumbled down in a heap in front of me. If he dies I'll be sooooo sad."


On the flip side, both the Yoda/Dooku and Anakin/Dooku fights are really amazing in the book.

It definitely helps that he has mommy issues and Padme had the need to take care of everyone
