Now I have a new older, disgruntled Jedi to use for my pitch.

You probably created the fixation by not letting him see it. And making it known that was the reason. Had you not mentioned or reacted at all he may not have even noticed.redline248 said:
As backstory, I haven't let him watch AOTC, yet...mainly b/c Jango getting his head chopped off...but the little sneak turned on the movie one day when I was busy, and of course so that 1 part. I knew it would become a fixation and with him...
Ya think there's a chance bellbottoms will ever be back in style or should I just donate them to the Goodwill? #StillHaveThem https://t.co/WkBhj6qGzy

Odd, i didn't realize it was Anaheim only and from what I'm seeing, it's because he wouldn't fit in with the storyline they're doing for Starcruiser. That's disappointing.
This whole thing is so 90s now jesus https://t.co/QVaTLpKeap

I watched that trailer easily 500 times before TPM came out. It's a fantastic trailer. Now I'm going to watch it right now. My brother, my dad and I went to see The Waterboy and they played it before the movie and after too andt he whole crowd stuck around after the credits to see it again.double aught said:
That trailer still hits.
This is why I mostly avoid trailers.Brian Earl Spilner said:
Honest question. How much harder would that moment have hit of Maul igniting the second lightsaber, if you knew nothing about it beforehand?
Yeah Spilner, what the hell were you doing watching that trailer, you hypocrite!powerbelly said:This is why I mostly avoid trailers.Brian Earl Spilner said:

I think the Internet would have ruined it based on the shots of him wielding a really long handled lightsaber, and in the second trailer / music video, Nerds like me would have already known. The duel in the hangar remains the most enduring part of the prequels and it's not even close, but there are so many amazing moments in the duel that I think it was a great teaser for what was coming.Brian Earl Spilner said:

I mean I'm sure for people scouring the internet for spoilers, they would probably know. But I'm saying in an ideal world and where somehow even you managed to not spoil yourself on it...you have to admit that theater would've lost its mind.
