What's interesting to me is that those Vanity Fair shots were clearly taken in The Volume, and obviously look like they're on a set. (Albeit very cool set.)
And yet while watching The Mandalorian or Boba Fett, for the life of me I couldn't tell you when a scene wasn't actually shot in the desert. If I didn't know, I'd have no idea.
If that is all due to lighting, color correction, etc, then it's insane how talented these guys are.

Coppola didn't have a choice. Lucasfilm does.
The technology is getting better by the month. This is going to be nails by 2025.

Part of what is funny to me is the big push is based on three characters who are already dead?

I don't want to be too much of a wet blanket, but do we need to learn anything more about these characters? I am excited about Kenobi and look forward to Ewan, but I also don't feel like I need to learn anything more about the character.
And it seems like they are really refusing to address post-Rise of Skywalker Star Wars which they will have to do sometime.
The continued churning of the nostalgia part of Star Wars is wearing thin.
