This franchise is being mismanaged. No way around that fact.
The bottom line is they really jumped the gun with announcing those three Christmas slots. IMO.
In agreement that it's crazy they haven't figured this sh*t out yet. Granted, I'm sure they have their hands full wrapping up Episode IX, and have been overseeing the production and development of at least three Disney+ series we know of, but it's still baffling that they don't have their big picture plan in place yet. Surely Johnson has pitched at least the bare bones of his vision, even if it's still somewhat in flux as he recently claimed. But something does smell fishy at this point. Lucasfilm officially announced Johnson's trilogy on November 9, 2017 - nearly TWO years ago - and we (and they, it seems) still don't know any more now than we/they knew then. It can't possibly take that long to figure out what they're working with and date everything. It's so weird.
I think they expected building a Star Wars universe would be as seemingly easy as building the MCU was, but Marvel has 100 years of comics and characters to draw from - they already know what stories and characters people love. Star Wars is having to do a lot more original thinking without that safety net provided by, "Well, we know the Marvel Civil War comic books sold great, so let's do that!"

You know there's that great unused art of Anakin/Vader as a Force ghost talking to Kylo in TFA. Should have left it in there and then had Palps been behind it in TROS

I just finished watching Star Wars with my son, and something occurred to me. Everyone always asks why didn't Chewie get a medal? How come no one cares about Wedge or the other random Y-wing pilot that survived the battle? They didn't even get to walk up for the ceremony.

Wedge and Chewie vowed to not accept any medals until the job was done and the war was won.
