My only issue with the new images we see being either a jettisoned pod, or a Han-modification, is that the YT freighters shown as "easter eggs" in the prequels looked exactly like the OT Falcon

Here is the image from wookiepedia. Again, the legitimacy of this being canon is unclear to me. Both b/c it's wookiepedia, and this might be from a source prior to Disney turning pre-purchase material into "Legends."

From an artistic standpoint I completely understand Johnson's decision to go in the direction he did with regards to Rey's lineage.

From a fan standpoint, I was kind of blown away and really turned off by that. If she's a nobody, that should have been resolved at the end of TFA and not carried over into another movie while people speculated for 2 years.

The fact that she wasn't someone important or someone descended from "the good guys" is something I was guessing at long ago. I brought it up in this thread a while back that I didn't think someone important would have been entrusted to Unkar Plut as a child, but I was open to other possibilities.

I just think it's a major fail on the part of Lucasfilm that they apparently didn't have the story arc mapped out ahead of time.

I don't understand why they won't do an extended cut. I realize the director may feel that the best version is the one that went to theaters, but fans don't give a **** about the "best" version. Everyone on this thread would pay 30$ for the blu ray with 20 more minuets of Star Wars.
