If you happened to see Fox's The Wolverine or The Way, Way Back this past weekend, you likely caught the teaser trailer for Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which he not only stars in, but also directed. Poignantly set to “Dirty Paws” by Of Monsters and Men, the trailer for Walter Mitty looks unlike anything Stiller has directed before; almost like a more whimsical version of a Wes Anderson movie.

I also can’t remember the last time I saw a trailer in a theater before seeing it online, which may have added to the wow-factor I had seeing this one for the first time. I really do wish more studios would emulate what Fox did here, and wait ‘til after the premiere weekend to debut their trailers online. There’s been a buzz online for it the past few days that you just don’t get the way we’ve become accustomed to. Either way, can’t wait to see the final product.

Caught this before The Way Way Back. Looks awesome. I think Stiller is a really talented actor, so it should suit him. Hopefully get to see what kind of chops Wiig has as well.

What a great trailer... I thought this movie would be like Night at the Museum when I first heard about it. Now I'm definitely in.

And that's one of my favorite songs of the Of Monsters and Men album.

I liked the short story back in high school, and this looks like a good interpretation by Mr. Stiller.

fun story. my wife was in NY last year when they were filming a few scenes of this and watched for a while. we've been looking forward to it.

Mos may have been in that group, but Adam Scott (Ben from P&R) was the main one.

Ah, I can see that now. I knew he looked familiar, and with the beard, he looks a little Mose-y.

This was one of my favorite books to read in school, and am very excited about how Ben Stiller will thrive in this role.

Saw a rejected, longer/alternate version of the trailer last night via a friend who works for a trailer company, and there are so many beautiful shots in this movie, it's crazy. It also had a bit more dialogue and showed a couple shots of Stiller and a concrete skateboarding effect. Overall, made me even more hyped. I've also heard that the post-production so far has been pretty nuts. Apparently, there's A LOT of action/effects, much more than is being hinted at so far.

I doubt it. The alternate version I saw was never released publicly. Friend showed it to me on his laptop, logged into his work's server. Still had watermarks + unfinished effects. Never got past the rough-cut phase.

Interesting. I definitely saw a version that had more dialogue and showed Mitty being sort of snapped back to reality a couple of times. Just interesting that I saw a different version in the theatre than this one.

... one clocking in at 1:53 and the other at 1:55. I saw the same trailer twice last weekend (both with The Way, Way Back and The Wolverine), the same one that was released online. But there very well could be a slightly different cut out there for some reason, as evident of the Recently Classified Trailers site.

FYI I saw the second trailer too with more dialogue from Kristen Wiig

Fantastic movie. Really amazing. The story telling was good- very humorous. The biggest complaint I generally have with movies is the pacing. And this flowed very smoothly.

Ben Stiller knocked it out of the park with this one.

It didn't get rave reviews but I thought most of the critics' reasoning for that sounded more like they don't like Ben Stiller than the movie was bad.

I loved the movie. I thought it was funny and touching in just the right moments. I also happen to be a big film photography fan so I think I was bound to like it regardless

I loved it. I am not a huge movie goer but went last night and thought it was great. Some absolutely beautiful scenery.

Fantastic movie. Scenery throughout the movie was awesome as well as the story. If you haven't checked it out or are unsure about what to see definitely go see it.

Great movie. It met my expectations and made me want to go travel the world and be a photographer. Luckily, I leave the country in three days for Israel.

Is it appropriate for a 13 year-old girl? I noticed it was PG. Shocked actually, didn't know they still made PG movies.....

Saw this today and my wife and I both liked it a lot. Story was cool, the cinematography was very good, and soundtrack was awesome!

It reminded me a little bit of the movies Big Fish and Stranger Than Fiction.

Really fun, sweet, even inspirational story, and yes it is appropriate for younger viewers (maybe one S-bomb in the whole movie?)

Went with a friend who had never read the short story. I loved it!

Saw it with my mom on Christmas Day. We both loved every second! I actually prefer Ben Stillar in these types of roles, I wish he would do more like it. Kristen Wiig is also a perfect fit for this movie.
