what a terrible season finale. This was my least favorite episode of the season, and it was the ****ing season ****ing finale. Terrible writing, terrible acting, this show should have ended after season 4.

meh. I didn't hate it as much as the post above mine, but I definitely had issues with it.

Deb shooting LaGuerta was so dumb. She would have been just as much a killer in the viewer's eyes if she dropped her weapon and watched dex kill maria in cold blood as if she pulled the trigger. That just confused Dex's plan.

Hannah McKay is without a doubt not done with this show. I don't see how the writers would get rid of the one person who completely understands Dexter for all that he is, and loves every part of him. I can see them killing her off, but they are definitely not done with her story arc.

Great. Deb's emotional roller coaster is about to go flying off the tracks. Is there an episode this season where she didn't cry?

Hannah will be back. We know she's still alive because she left that plant at Dexter's door.

Dexter can now quit hiding behind his code. Not sure what direction that will take him, but I do know the code was arbitrary and somewhat hypocritical.

Yeah, Deb ****ed everything up all sorts of ways. So is Dexter now going to have to dig the bullet out of LaGuerta and shoot her again with other dude's gun? Or just hope it went through and through, grab the slug and then shoot her a second time?

Regardless, Yay! LaGuerta's dead! Hated that *****.

The only scene in last night’s episode involving Quinn was when he hit on Angel’s sister.

7. TWIST — The one twist in the entire episode was, again, unpredictable only in its obviousness. Any number of scenarios could’ve made that more interesting. For instance, if Debra had struck out on her own and killed LaGuerta to protect Dexter. Or if Hannah had somehow gotten involved and murdered LaGuerta to protect Dexter. Or if LaGuerta or Hannah had shot Debra, or if Dexter had chosen Hannah over Debra. Anything other than Debra breaking down and ultimately choosing her brother over LaGuerta, who she shot, and whose dead body she sobbed over, which was probably the most surprising turn in the whole episode.

Love that LaGuerta is gone but it's hard for me to buy into Deb offing her like that. Yea, she was under duress but I still can't see her making that drastic of a decision. Love the name of the finale too. I am looking forward to next season and exploring more about Dexter's origins.

This whole season, particularly the finale, has just seemed lazy. I think the writers are out of ideas with all the half-assed side plots that never develop.

I thought we covered his origins extensively across the entire first season. That actually is a turn-off for me.

I think we will see Angel investigating LaGuerta's murder. If anyone has to take down Dexter, they'll pick his best friend.

Yep, I'd anticipate Angel bringing it all down.

how can you guys be upset? the out and out worst, most annoying character on this show is finally ****ing dead. that is great news. she should have been knocked off a long time ago.

I don't have the same hate for the finale as the rest of you seem to, but I did expect better. Didn't Laguerta have a gun near her that Dexter was planting? That's why I figured Deb shot her, but I don't know. I just hope this was a big set up for next season and it will send the show off right.

Deb shooting her just didn't make sense to me.

I do agree that if anyone takes down Dexter, it should be Batista. By far one of the best characters on the show and I could use more of him than Quinn or Deb.
