ZOMG DO YOU REALLY THINK PAM AND JIM WILL LIKE BREAK UP? THIS IS LIKE SOOOOO SAD. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

In the final scene, Brian the sound guy calls Pam "Paige", right? Someone needs to confirm.

I just put closed captioning on and he isn't saying Paige. He is saying "Hey, you are doing the best you can." The way he says it it kind of sounds like Paige.

When the funniest part of the show involves Nelly (with Toby) you know it's bad.

That ending was really weird, but Erin is definitely looking hotter.

The opening sequence was great.

He said "Hey, it's ju-...It's just a tough situation." He ran the "Hey, it's ju-" together very quickly so it sounded kind of like like "Paige."

That episode was amazing until, Pam and Jims little fight. Don't care and not worried about them

Opening was good but honestly I didn't really laugh at the rest of the episode (and I'm not one those posters who just comes here every week to talk ad nauseam about how much the show has declined).

The Pam Jim fight was just dumb. I guess NBC is really gonna force some "Ross/Rachel" drama on us.

And I totally agree Erin is looking way hotter this season.

I thought the open was good, but wasn't really a fan of the rest. I didn't think the Jim and Pam stuff worked, but, I kind of enjoyed watching something a little bit different, even if I ended up not really caring. And I think added tension between Philly and Scranton will make the finale a little bit better. I'm optimistic anyway.

I think this is the second time they've kind of gone "behind the cameras" this season and I really think that just doesn't make sense. I think the whole documentary format worked for the office and works Parks and Rec because it kind of adds a realistic feel to these kind of surreal characters. Am I the only one that this bothers?

I thought the meeting was hilarious about loyalty and Kevin making it class office awkward

Weird is a great way to describe the ending - the fight seemed forced, and why show the people behind the documentary at that point? Ending the episode with Pam crying gets the message across. I know we are supposed to learn more about the film crew as the end nears, but the whole ending just felt bizarre.

seems that i'm the only one who appreciated the episode last night..

i enjoyed the cold opening with the DunderCode
laughed at Nellie's little bit about doing everything except "unzipping their pants"
found Clark's "Windows 95" piece amusing
i thought the loyalty meeting had several chuckle-worthy moments (it definitely wasn't hard to watch like some more recent meetings in the conference room)
i almost wet my pants when Daryl took the keys from Dwight and said something about minimum wage workers
and then Toby/Nellie just seems like the perfect awkward couple
Daryl capping the episode by watching the YouTube video of Dwight getting milkshaped seemed like it was a decent way to end this particular episode.
overall, it was one of the better episodes of the last 2 seasons

I liked the episode.

When Pam started to tear up, I thought it rivaled some of the powerful moments from earlier seasons...

But that was ruined when they showed the crew...then it just became weird.

I think the end tried to through the sound guy in as a romantic foil to replace Jim. I kept expecting them to change angles and show him stroking her knee. That was the insinuation that I got at least.

You don't think that after however many years of silently watching and listening to issues, the cast wouldn't view the documentary crew as kind of sympathetic ears?

Yeah, I have to admit, that was pretty funny. The dot printer killed me.

there's so much wrong with this show...i especially hate the fact that they make Jim into some kind of accomplished sports executive...the guy is a salesman at a mid-level, Northeastern paper company. wasn't it during that gay, trivia night thing where he was suppose to be the sports guru but he didn't even know the previous year's NBA MVP?

correction...it was like 6th man of the year, i think.

Honestly, that doesn't bug.

The deal with Jim always was he was a pretty smart guy, he just didn't really care about his job.

Jan and David Wallace both had him tagged as a potential executive. The show pretty much implied Ryan got Jan's VP job because Jim withdrew from consideration.

He could have been the manager now but wanted to stay in sales since commissions were uncapped.

I don't mind the fact that now that he's found a job he loves, he'll be really good at it.

not good enough to keep that client or make it back to Scranton for his daughter's dance thing or good enough to keep his comical temper in check (kind of like Jerry in that ep where he was trying to be "emotional") when talking with Pam...

but yeah...i want to see the end of this show, so i keep recording/deleting.

I think they could have shown a few more disagreements or arguments leading up to this one, which would make it feel more serious. but so far they've just made it look like Pam is a little frazzled from being a single mom half the week.

maybe i'm in the minority, but i actually thought that the climax of this episode was pretty well done, and the camera crew being shown was definitely unexpected

my only problem is that the series has what, a few more episodes? this pam-jim rift seems like it's just the beginning of what could easily be written into a season-long arc, so i'm not sure how they'll tie it up

overall, the last 2 or 3 episodes have been above the season's average quality by a good margin, imo

I agree with this - it felt forced because we've never actually seen them seriously fight/argue before.
Pahdz
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah they haven't openly argued but you're blind if you haven't noticed the unspoken tension building. Its like any marriage. There are moments that sometimes lead to a blow up like last night. After the episode my wife said, "yep, that's happened to us before on both sides" and its totally true.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I thought it was one of the best episodes in a while. Good balance of classic Office humor and drama to advance the storyline. The fight was very realistic. It felt a lot like several phone calls that my wife and I have had.

i actually really thought the acting was very good here; definitely from Jim. I actually think I might have liked it if they didn't show the crew.

So...why didn't they just ask the documentary film crew for the footage of the ballet recital?

lol... thats actually a pretty good and fair point if they are gonna throw them out there the way they did.

I'm fine with Pam and Jim having problems, but I don't really like the cameraman as some "other guy" scenario. The conflict is definitely forced though. Jim and Pam have always been the most devoted couple to each other.

Terrific episode. I thought Pam breaking down was great scene and well acted. Episode could have ended there. Lots of funny bits throughout as well.

Everybody knew and wanted them to introduce the camera crew. That seemed like a good place to do it.

I didn't get sense that sound guy was rival for Jim. He could easily have been Pam's brother or good friend.

Haha, yeah, there are a lot of situations like that. Remember the episode where Michael went missing? Why didn't they just call the camera man who was with him?
Duncan Idaho
How long do you want to ignore this user?
i thought the introduction of the documentary crew felt forced and unneeded.

They should have just never mentioned it. it isn't like it was critical to the show. i mean you never heard any lost theories about who they were and what it means. OR anything like HIMYM, to me the documentary aspect of it was nothing more than a mcguffin and should never have been acknowledged.
