I C your Wikipedia and raise you one IMDB.

RoboCop2

The press conference where Mayor Kuzak shouts at the media was filmed in front of the east entrance to the Houston City Hall building (901 Bagby, Houston, Texas). The grand finale was filmed at Wortham Center in the Theater District in Houston. In several scenes, the white building which was seen in the background was the Alley Theatre; CGI imagery was used to create the visible damage during the final scenes.

One of the buildings shown at OCP's demonstration of their plans for Detroit is the Bank of America building located at 700 Louisiana in downtown Houston (the orange building in three triangles).

The leaking fire hydrant scene which was filmed on a street paved with red bricks was actually filmed on Andrews Street in the Freedmen's Town Historical District, located in Houston, Texas.

How about Serving Sara? I admit, I watched it. But only because it had Liz Hurley in it.

Hollywood,
Dude, trust me. Robocop was shot in Dallas. During a chase scene Reunion Tower is CLEARLY visible in the background. City Hall was used as the OCP building.

As for your IMDB link, you realize that you're referring to Robocop2 don't you? We're talking about the first movie.

Lone Start State of Mind is one of my favorite movies of all time. Hilarious.

Happy Texas is also a great movie. It is fictional but steals basically just the name and the billboard advertising the town for the movie.

"Welcome to Happy Texas, the town without a frown"

Dough, honestly, it all runs together for me. I will say that the first time I saw RoboCop I was in the basement of Mosher, "watching" it on VHS. That was before I found out that I was "the other man" and she went back to boyfriend from home.

Back on topic, how about:
Courage Under Fire
I know several people who were Tankers in that movie and extras.
And, circa 1994 when I was substitute teaching at McNeil HS in Round Rock, I had a bunch of students who were extras in Dazed and Confused.

When it gets made into a major motion picture and becomes an Oscar contender, my life story will be THE BEST movie ever set in Texas.

Unfortunately, too much of it is set in Florida. Maybe we'll embellish the story a little bit, and I'll lead an army from Texas to overthrow the Florida government and annex the state into the Republic of Texas. Yeah! I like that!

The Getaway (again, the original)

Futureworld, the sequel to Westworld, filmed in downtown Houston because of the futuristic architecture

Outlaw Blues (Austin and Huntsville)

D.O.A with Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan (Austin, San Marcos)

NO MENTION OF RUSHMORE YET?!?!?

I mentioned one of Wes Andersons films here in Bottle Rocket, but Rushmore was a hit and filmed in Houston. All in Houston.

Shwarzman and Bill Murray were Golden.

I live 14 miles from Smithville and they still won't let go of the fact that movie was filmed there. Several of the buildings still have the paintjobs from that movie on the exterior (Honey's Diner and until about a year ago, the Temptation Nation).
