The ban is only for delta 8, which is a synthetic/lab made compound. Delta 9 is natural, and thus not affected by the genius elected officials.

Cannabis hits differently than alcohol. It's not like a bottle of wine.

My first real experience with cannabis was an edible. A 10 mg cookie. Holy smokes it was intense. To the point it was kind of scary.

My problem with it is that people have no idea the dose or how much to take--especially this gas station crap that's out there. THC intoxication/overdose (yes, that's a thing) has been a very increasing and common thing in the ER for the past 5 years, not to mention kids getting into it thinking it's candy.

Don't get me started on idiots that vape. Which is everyone that vapes.

I disagree; I think regulation and some government oversight are important. Regulation is not the same as prohibition. Some safety standards need to be established and enforced. Think of the alcohol industry.
When was the last time anyone really worried about accidentally getting methanol in their bottle of bourbon, or widely different alcohol contents from what is advertised on the can? Thanks to regulations and standards you can reasonably be certain what you're getting when you buy a can of beer or a bottle of liquor. Same with most FDA regulated pharmaceuticals. The same cannot be said for most of these synthetic THC products.

Is there any data on reduction in alcoholism and benzo use? I know it doesn't seem to have much effect on meth but at least some people I know seem to think the wider availability of THC products over the last several years has reduced dependency on some other drugs, including abused prescription pharmaceuticals.
