Had a talk yesterday with my new manager in Brazil. He's a very nice guy, but the gist of the talk was that we're now under a plan called "Follow the sun" on my contract, and the sun only goes to Brazil and India. They're working hard to unload Americans. He told me that he's managed to keep me on the account for another year, but then told me that he wanted a resume ASAP. I have got to get a better job. I've been trying desperately to make this one work until Benny graduates in May, and I can leave Columbia. I'm not sure I'm going to make it that long.
First I need a vacation. It's been three years since we've gone anywhere (other than Texas for Tanya's funeral). Need to clear my head and then really get to work on the job search rather than half-assing it like I've been doing. I was told last night that our land sale in Hardin County has been delayed again because the title company, after researching my great-great grandfather, who died in 1929, researched the wrong person in the family and not my great grandfather (who died in the late 40s). I can't imagine why any of this matters, but we're now nearly two months into this sale. It's frustrating because I'm planning on using part of the sale money on the vacation I need.
In the meantime, the College World Series starts tomorrow. Cardinals and Royals play tonight.
