I was about to board a flight in Frankfurt, Germany. Non stop Frankfurt to IAH. 10 hour flight. I see a man pre-boarding, In a wheelchair, on supplemental oxygen, looking like he is in complete liver failure.

I say to my wife, this is not going to end well.

Sure enough, 2 hours from Houston and we are performing CPR on said individual. He did not make it.

What do they do with a body that dies mid-flight? Gotta be some kind of protocol. They don't just cover it, right?

At what point does the corpse become checked baggage and require a surcharge?

I kid you not. Deceased was was business class with lay flat seat. Placed body in seat. Covered with blankets. Strapped him in.

HFD met us at the gate. Removed deceased and then let the rest of the passengers deplane.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I've had a couple people die on my airplane. Everybody had to wait while they took them off. In the first case, The coroner met the plane and declared him dead before the body could be removed.

The second was a lady that went into cardiac arrest just before coast out to Honolulu. We dived into LAX but a nurse and a doctor couldn't save her. They took her off the plane into an alcove just off the jet way. The pax weren't allowed to leave until the coroner could come to declare her dead. Coroner was caught in traffic and never arrived.

The company asked if the crew was mentally and emotionally ok to press on to HNL. We said we were and had enough gas to push back without refueling. We felt bad because we couldn't get down in time to possibly save her, but we did get on the deck from 35,000 in 15 minutes.

Had a few others that we did get down in time.

(Hijacking my own thread)

I was trolling for bass on Lake Travis last year in Cyoress Crerk cove near the zip line place. There was one spot I know of where there's a deep channel and drop off and sometimes there are good fish in there. It just so happened that a big group of kayak fishermen had pulled up to the bank close by and were about to have a lunch break. As I trolled up about 50 feet away I saw the drop on my finder under me, and waved at them and pointed down, and gave them a thumbs up. Not 10 seconds later I hook up on a big fish and fight it to the surface and lip land a solid 7lb bass. I took a look at my audience as I pulled it out of the water and you could see them gawking in amazement. I called my own shot.

My hometown credit union used to have an in-person annual meeting before they decided to expand all over the place and slap their name on the UH stadium.

The annual meeting has a drawing for cash door prizes. I felt really good when I put my name in the hopper.

Walking into the Brazoswood auditorium I saw the parents and siblings of my best friend sitting at the back. They said "Hey, we have an extra seat, come sit with us!!!"

I said "no, I'm going to sit down front so I don't have as far to walk for my door prize!"

I sat on the second row and at the end of the meeting my name was called for the $200 door prize.

The woman beside me had been saying she hoped to win a door prize and I told her we could go up together because I was going to win one of them. She said "you're a little too confident!"

Right before they called my name I got up from my seat and said "gotta go!" and headed to the steps up to the stage.

Her jaw dropped and she shook her head.

It was funny. I've only had that happen one other time.
