2007. Oldest son got diagnosed with non-verbal autism. My wife gave up her promising career to take care of him. Realized we were not a "normal" family and would never be.

Fast forward 18 years later. I would not have changed a thing. My wife and I are closer than ever, and that partnership is all I ever need.

My life has been filled with life changing moments but, a motorcycle accident in 2019 was probably the one that sticks out the most. I didn't walk away from that one. They scraped me off the road, put me in an ambulance, and hauled me to the hospital. I broke lot's of stuff, stitches in my face and head, nearly lost my right arm...it was just pretty bad all around. Long recovery and lot's of physical therapy.

I've ridden motorcycles for 40 years and all it took was one little old 85 year old man to pull out in front of me. I had no time to react. I hit him doing 40 mph...no helmet, gloves, jacket, boots...just my office clothes. My saving grace was a fire dept across the street and a doctor who had just walked out of Walgreens that witnessed the accident and quickly rendered aid. That doctor ended up being in the operating room and working on me. Angels all around me. God is good.

2014, I found out at 30 that I was born on the spectrum. Definitely not as severe but I've had a lifetime of difficulties.

Having kids.

Might have another life event that changes my before/after soon. Big things may be on the horizon for my family in the coming months.

Career and financially it's the time before and after I went back to school for an MBA.

Physically, it's the time before and after my tibial plateau fracture. I've made an almost full recovery but still suffer from mild foot drop, and my right knee will eventually need to be replaced due to the soft tissue damage.

It's tough to say. Closest people to me that I've lost have been my grandparents but they lived long lives and I was grateful I actually got to know them and had a relationship with them. My girlfriend from college died from cancer 2 years ago and that hit me harder than I expected, but wouldn't consider it "life-changing".

Probably my kids being born. I felt a lot of pressure and it kinda got my butt in gear to get licensed and further my career.

Undoubtedly was the one-time and is the ongoing revelation that Jesus Christ loves me more than I love myself.

Graduating from A&M

2 years ago. Rock bottom. Almost destroyed family. Uncovered and understood my childhood trauma. Finally understood how to surrender to God. I was saved but shackled by my past and shame and guilt was destroying me slowly. Finally broke it and understand for the first time what joy and peace really are. Sucks the damage I did.

Congrats, sounds like great progress! Hope "joy and peace" also includes forgiving yourself for whatever you perceive as your faults/sins! (i.e. the damage you did!) Hey, God forgives you, so who are YOU to withhold forgiveness?!!
