The studies now show that masks didn't work and caused more upper respiratory infections than saved people from COVID infection even during the height of the outbreak. Because the number of people it saved was 0.
Which anyone who was capable of logical reasoning during the outbreak was trying to tell people.
Any 1st year med student or person who has taken basic Healthcare OSHA knows that even high level surgical masks are designed to repel SPATTER which are water droplets that contain fluid infected with borne blood pathogens.
Additionally COVID tests do next to nothing because by the time you have enough of the virus in you to cause symptoms and warrant a test you have already been infectious for 24 hours and have likely spread it to the people you are in contact with on a daily basis.....you know...like the flu...or a cold. Additionally the COVID test does not tell you if you are infectious and can give false positives.
That's why contact tracing didn't work during the outbreak.
But go on and lecture the rest of us on why taking useless precautions makes you a good person.
I am constantly amazed at how COVID broke many people's ability to think rationally.
Good gosh you are a Cliff ClavenAgs4DaWin said:
It's the implication that if you think rationally and don't wear a mask or take tests that you are being inconsiderate of others that I have a problem with.
Almost ALL the people I know that wear masks do it either 1) because it's their new security blanket for their irrational feelings of paranoia and anxiety. Or 2) to show how good of a person they are for "being considerate".
And then they try to shame people who do not live in constant fear like themselves.
*shrugs*
Wear your mask. Take your tests. Cool.
Just don't try to lie to me and tell me ur doing it because it helps others and you're being considerate.
1) It helps noone
2) You're not

Seat belts totally save lives. It's rational and been proven multiple times over. Your analogy and attempt to belittle me is sort of what I have come to expect from you sadly. And comes across as petty and small minded.
It has also been proven that masks do absolutely nothing. The government, WHO, and the CDC have retracted EVERY. SINGLE. recommendation and "study" they published saying that masks did anything to stop the spread.
I know science. Biology Major with microbiology minor. Graduated Suma from A&M. I know viruses and studied under virologists and people that work for the CDC.
So this is a subject that I am very familiar with.
For that reason I don't appreciate people equating good knowledge with science deniers.
I am not one of those. In fact I know a whole hell of alot more about this than 99% of people that post on these boards including the people with the red cross in their handle.

Probably best to let them know he's been sick.
Fwiw, CoVID is just another coronavirus cold for like 99% of us now. Virtually everyone has an immune resistance from having had it now and the current variants are weak sauce. It's a concern for people that would need to be concerned about any cold or respiratory virus, and not at all for anyone else, in my view, so it isn't that big a deal whether to bring it up or not.
Daughter in Houston had it this week. She's had it twice before, both times after traveling and having long flights and airport waiting times.
She was pretty miserable the first couple days this round.
Please tell us more, doctor.
