I don't go to doctors unless I have a problem which is very rarely. For school purposes, we take our kids and every time the doc would recommend a flu shot as December approached. We would always postpone it to next time and never do it.

Until now, we have never taken any annual flu shots. Never.

We did take 3 doses of the COVID vaccine though because I was scared that this may be different from the "annual" one. None of us got COVID eventually.

December is approaching, and we won't take any. I am okay with us getting sick and building immunity than pumping chemicals into my body every year and generating profits for an evil corporation with their money grubbing execs.

What's been your plan?

Had a bad case of flu before, so I did get the vaccine this year.

I'm not old yet. I will when I'm old, if I feel like seeing the next fast and furious movie

The USAF used to make us get one every year. I always eemed to get sick when I got it though, Supposedly the virus was dead and shouldn't of gotten sick. Since I separated I haven't gotten one.

Some years I do and some I don't. I don't ever plan to not get it, I'm sometimes just too busy to remember and I don't go to the doctor often to be reminded. I'll say every time I've gotten the flu, I was unvaccinated.

My kid gets one every year because her well visit is at the end of September so the timing works out for her to do it then. She's 11 and has never had the flu.

I work in a hospital. They require us to.

Flu shots are for suckers.

As are annual vaccinations for pets.

I mostly just do what my doctor recommends. Similarly, when one of my cars needs a repair, I listen to the mechanic and usually do what's recommended for the repair.

No on the flu vaccine, but I do from time to time put chemicals(Scotch) into my body.

The only time I got a flu shout was in 1989 for the Texas Army National Guard training we had at Camp Ripley, Minnesota. I ended up getting the flu. I have not had one since that year.

Usually. In a few years I may do the pneumonia shot. No COVID for me.

Flu shot is just not very effective. Roughly 35% efficacy which is pretty pathetic relative to the traditional vaccines that are most 90%+

For my patients I only encourage flu on high risk kids like infants under 12 months or asthma kids.

I get it due to the fact that I am going to be exposed multiple times and will do what I can to not miss a week of clinic.

I also got the novavax for COVID, seems to be significantly more effective than the mRNA vaccines.

Your mechanic knows more about cars than the average doctor knows about the human body, health, nutrition, and prevention. Most family doctors are trying to keep the lights on. They have to deal in volume, bill as many patients as possible, and take care of overhead. It's not like they are on the forefront of the latest research.

Ozempic may result in an "I am Legend" scenario in 50 years, but if you're fat AF and not willing to otherwise lose weight it is more likely to saver your life than a flu shot by many orders of magnitude.

It comes down to trust, in all of these things where I'm not an expert. Do I trust my PCP, eye doctor, mechanic, lawyer, etc.

They make it to defend what is circulating in China/Australia and hope it doesn't change. It often does though.
