We also like this little hole in the wall family place called Catfish Charlies. It's not fancy, but we've always had good food there.

Wow! Talk about a blast from the past. Forgot all about this place. We used to go all the time growing up. Cool to see it still going.

Ha, was just looking to see if Catfish Charlies would get a mention and was still around. Wife's grandparents used to live right by there. Good times, great memories.

I've heard comments like this from a lot of people who either used to live in Corpus, or had family there and visited.

Again, it's not what I call high end stuff--you have to be good with an old school red and white checkerboard table cloth, but the food is very consistent, and the people are really nice. We go there now pretty much every time we're in Corpus.

It's very good catfish and sides, I just wish someone would cook "old school" catfish on the bone and not filleted.

Stagecoach Inn in Salado used to serve their fried catfish that way - fried whole, on the bone. I can't recall seeing another restaurant do that.

A dive Mexican & Seafood restaurant that is good and reasonably priced, but bring your guns after dark. Some local firefighters turned me on to this place.
