The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

Son & I are now the mow & edge team; used to do it all myself.

I agree with outsourcing things you don't like to do or suck at doing if you can afford it.

I view it as exercise, enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done, the scent of freshly cut grass and the reward of a cold beer afterwards.

Plus I don't want some yahoos spreading fungus & pests ala herpes simplex 12 around my yard after cutting the neighbor's trash lawn.

We used to have retired neighbors that had a big nice new zero turn John Deere. They would mow our lawn and theirs and up and down the sides of our county road and whatever else they could find. They loved riding that thing.

We had a yard man growing up, and as soon as I could afford it I've had a guy. Not a big item in my budget and I would rather spend my weekends or after work time doing something I find more enjoyable. I get that a lot of you do find enjoyment in it though.

Yes. I enjoy yard work. Plus I need the exercise.

Paid someone to do it when I was working. After I retired I bought good lawnmower (not riding) and enjoyed doing it myself. Took pride in making the yard look nice. Age and back problems caught up with me and had to go back to having someone do it (while mumbling to myself that I would have done a better job).

No, hell no.

We used to have 2.5 acres that was fully sprinklered and landscaped and I mowed it until the boys started doing it. Once boy #1 went off to school I sold that place and got a house on one acre. That seemed pretty easy compared to the 2.5 - until boy #2 left for school.

We built a house on a golf course where the HOA mows the front and I pay to have the back mowed. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Boy #2 mows his yard and is waaay to busy at work for that and has a new little one. Twice I've gone over to his house when the neighbor's mowing guy was there. I paid the guys to mow, that way he can spend more time with the kiddo. Sooner or later he's going to figure out that mowing is easy and cheap to get hired out. His highest and best use of time is not mowing the yard.

I am one of the few in the neighborhood that mows their own yard. Have the EGO line. It's a ton of work but good exercise.

One of my issues with yard services is they don't properly clean up the street. Blowing leaves, grass clippings, etc down the street is lazy and unacceptable.

Yup do all my own yard & pool work except for chemical stuff in the yard as I've messed that up in the past and it isn't worth it!

I figure why should I pay someone to exercise when I need to exercise anyway? I figure it pays for my Tonal sub monthly instead of paying a yard crew.

"Worked" from home today. Spent all day outside. Weedeating, pruning, burning old fence pickets, digging a trench. It was glorious. Then replied to work emails for about an hour.

I mowed my parent's yard enough growing up. I told myself I wouldn't buy a house until I could afford for someone to take care of the yard. I bought my first house at 24 and have never owned a lawnmower. I'm 44 and still have never owned one. I completely get the guys that enjoy it. Not me.

Yes, about 6 hours a week…12 if it rains a lot. Two 31hp, diesel, 72 inch commercial ZTR's. Lots of hills and trees to mow around. I find it relaxing and rewarding. I work 100% from home office with a very flexible schedule….so it's easy to fit the mowing in.

No. Miguel has mowed the yard for 9 years and grandfathered me into $35 each time. We have nearly an acre in town and I pay him $40. It takes 3 guys about 20 minutes to mow, edge, weed eat and blow the driveway. I come home Thursday afternoon and it's done for the weekend.

Took a break from work as the sun is out. Grass is still wet but I mowed my backyard just now. Orange Gatorade Zero during the mow, now I'm onto the post now beer.

My yard isn't hard to mow. Mowing/weeding/blowing takes about an hour. I can do it before a day at the office if I want, but sometimes I wait until Friday or Saturday afternoon just because there is no Shiner that tastes better than a post-mow Shiner.

Yes. Non self propelled push mower. Usually twice a week. Two times a week for 90 minutes I have time to myself without screaming kids.

I pay someone. But grew up doing our yard with my dad. When my sons a little older I plan to start doing it myself with his help so he doesn't assume you can pay to have others maintain your home

Pay someone

Have a super busy career and spend enough time away from home with work travel that when I'm home I just focus on family time with the wife and kids.

Pre-kids and several houses ago with a much smaller lawn, I did it myself and generally enjoyed it. It's just not the best use of my time at this stage of life...

I'll always mow my own yard. I'm part of the 5% of my subdivision that does. I like sweating and getting dirty. I've been mowing my yard since I was a child. I'll never pay someone to do something that I can do for free…and probably better.
Yeah - I'm the only guy in my subdivision who does his own year. And mine looks the best. Those crews come in and fly through doing the yard in 15 minutes - they can't do a very good job.

Nope. The landscaping company hired by my HOA does everything. My time is valuable. Y'all have fun.

I do because it's the only exercise I get besides heavy weight lifting twice a week and golf (which ain't much because I ride)

I also don't want the lawn companies dragging weeds and diseases to my yard.

If we're going to allow a porous southern border, I might as well get something out of it. Hell no I don't mow my lawn.

Most middle class working folks need more exercise. I personally would rather do my own yard work as part of my weekly exercise instead of paying a crew then paying more to go to the gym.

This was my edging and weeding and such this morning per my Garmin watch.

We have about a .5 acre that I mow/weedeat/edge weekly. Takes about an hour an a half. I hate doing it before I start but I enjoy it when I'm done with a cold beer and admiring my work. I also get out of having to deal with the kids for a while so that helps.

With that said I grew up having to take care of about four acres every week mowing. **** that nonsense. I feel for those who do t understand how much work it is taking care of a place of your own that's decent in size. It gets old quick when the heat is 100 degrees.
