AKA "Resignation day"

Quarterly bonuses are bad enough, I'd hate annual. Give it to me monthly or gtfo

They'll tell us next week. It's been a record year in terms of number of patients we saw. Expect a nice bonus.

Mine isn't really a "bonus" per se. It's my share of what's left at the end of the year. But our employees only get annual bonuses. Quarterly bonuses seem absurd. Monthly bonuses wouldn't be bonuses. That would just be a paycheck.

We've actually never had anybody get their bonus and then quit.

Many if not most of the highest compensation jobs in the country have higher bonus income than salary.

In the wonderful world of tech, we generally bonus at EOQ1.

But we're prepping our people to expect max at 75% of possible.

Public co exec comp is at worst 50/50 salary to bonus with a significant equity portion on top. If your salary is the largest portion of your comp you're not making real money.

when you say "bonus" do you mean [payment agreement that is not written and only promised by hr as a hiring tool...then nothing gets paid?]

PSA for all the youngbloods - take your own bonus by working half days and zoning out a few hours each day. take some TP home as well.

That's a personal question. I really don't think I'm comfortable answering it. Sorry.

Depends on what you think is "real money."

I don't actually have a salary. I get a K1. But I do have a guaranteed amount each year before my end of year draw. The guaranteed amount is the bulk of my compensation. I would say I make real money, but I suppose it wouldn't be real money to somebody making $20 million a year.

Youre an idiot. Anyone in high finance who is mid-career or above is often making more in bonus than their salary.

I got a STELLAR review for my work in 2022 and early 2023 was the perf eval and my boss was all praise but he never mentioned any raises or bonuses. I guess we just get some RSUs of our tanking stock and that was worth some $4k. Bleh. No raise, they just give raises for promotions, I later found out.

Anyway I had another stellar 2023 work wise but I got laid off last week along with all managers in my high performing team. I think they want to sell the company so no need for people in the future as there are no crap left to clean up and they might scrap strategic projects. So all my work got me no raise again.

Why don't you work as an Uber guy or a pizza delivery boy? You can get your bonus multiple times a day. Also known as a tip.

I know.. wtf does it even mean? My offer letter has sometimes said "the company gives out a bonus of 17%". Then when the year is over, sometimes it is 5% and one time I got about 60% bonus. 17% is meaningless as they use some multiple that moves the amount up and down.
