I think it was Wellborn and Old Main.

But I'm old so I'm not really sure.

Pretty sure it was near Wellborn and Old Main right. We always parked at Kleberg for football games and would sometimes use it.

It was definitely gone when I was a student in 08

Wellborn and Joe Routt/Kimbrough.

Does anybody know someone who even used it. I was a walker. Never even took the bus from west campus to main.

I hated outfit runs that went over that thing because once you crossed wellborn onto west campus all the bird **** everywhere would make me gag from the smell. Ducking disgusting. I think it was demolished and the underpass walkways was built 2003/2004? Was for sure there before I got out of the corps in May 2004

It wasn't there in Feb. 2003.

Ah yes the ice storm. It was a fun challenge going to Albertsons and the liquor store. My danger ranger was everywhere it wasn't suppose to be. The next day we walked. That was a slippery trip.

I used it for softball camp when I came in the 90's while in high school. We stayed in the dorms over where the parking garage is now.

Exactly. I don't think I ever actually walked across it. But I ran across it a whole bunch.

This thread is just reinforcing my contention that it's difficult to find pictures of the old bridge.

I was describing it to my '22 Daughter and telling her that she walked over it several times when she was little.

One of my buds in the Corps a couple of years younger than me was telling me about having to duck walk over it back in 82 in his fish year in K-2 when a photographer was taking a picture of them. He told me he wanted to smile really badly but didn't because he thought it would be in the Battalion the next day and the upper classmen would make them do it again. Turns out the photographer was from the Aggieland and now his pic is immortalized but he's not smiling!

It came down when they were building The Zone & the underpass walkway, whenever that was. Maybe 01?

OP I actually think I might have one, I'll dig out my old photo albums later.

It has been 20 years since the rainbow bridge got torn down. To put things in perspective, Guion Hall (the assembly hall they stood where Rudder Center is today) was torn down about 15 years before I was a freshman..

With all due respect to General Rudder, I would much rather look at this building than that tower that is there today.

The Zone was built in '98. I remember watching games on tv that year and seeing the construction workers in The Zone. They weren't working. They just wanted to watch the games for free!

Some friends and I took advantage of a promotional deal 12 Man Foundation had going on in 1998 and pledged money to get first deck seats in The Zone. They needed money to pay off the project. When it opened in 1999 the upper deck was still under construction, so as a joke we wore hard hats with "The Zone" stickers to all the games that season.

When the decision was made to rebuild Kyle Field 15 years later we got kicked out of our seats and told to re-apply just like every other schlub even though our seats weren't physically removed. So much for loyalty. I had seats for a few more years after that but quit renewing shortly thereafter. I don't ever intend to buy season tickets again.

At least your last name isn't Spence and they didn't take your name off your park.

This looks similar but is evidently in Asgard judging by the road names.

I used it in the 90's going to games. Our parking was across the street from Kyle.

Yes I'm old. I make up for it by acting immature.

I always kind of liked Rudder.

I will say that not being able to see/visit Guion Hall will always be one of my major disappointments. Pretty much everyone I know who has been in it said that it was by far the most beautiful building on campus. Apparently it had a lot of ornate architectural bling and fancy light fixtures.
