Update: I talked her off the ledge and we are still rolling with the old couch for a bit longer. Good thing I did, cause about 2 weeks after all this couch shopping stopped my son puked all over the couch. Good times.

You're buying on price, and probably a price significantly cheaper than a quality piece of furniture. I think when you look at it that way you answer your question. That sort of stuff can easily break structurally in under 2 years and the materials are going to be *****

we spent $800 ea. on two couches from furniture row when we moved into our new house.. 10 years ago, and they still look and work great. If the couch you buy breaks in 2 years, you probably a 15 year old couch on fb marketplace lol.

You people must have really crappy Ashley stores, either that, or they are like Star in San Antonio used to be…..the really good stuff is up stairs or in a different area. Everything I've bought there has been solid wood, no laminates, no particle board, etc…..and flat ass heavy.
