The KK still exists through right wing evangalistic members of AMC. The stickas make quad bombs and are basically terrorists on the quad.

One of the dumbest things I ever seen. I made plenty of quad bombs in my day, and I had nothing to do with the stickers. Quad bombs and dorm flooding and stuff is left up to the underclassmen that are ored and have nothing better to do. Another good one is putting water balloons through a window and taking out the bathroom stalls from the other side of the quad - not that I ever did that.

Normally the guys that are T's and Stickers are way past making quad bombs and breaking stuff, and have much better things to be doing.

rockelle - while the post was dumb, your profile shows a great moose knuckle.

Rockelle, Im interested to know how you know the KK are still around. I heard the Kala Kanasis died out a long time ago. Please enlighten the rest of us.

Muller spoke to my MGMT 450 class this semester. He's an interesting guy, but I'm not gonna lie...I was offended when he left the room. He made me feel dumb for being a woman majoring in business, and wanting to "work on the sidelines and not in the game" by specializing in business law. But he's rich as crap. Say what you want, I guess.

the ninjas were a super-secretive group from 2001-2003, but I can't tell you who we were or what we did.

I just wanted some name-recognition out there.

Does anyone think the media will make a bid deal about two "bonesman" running against each other in the upcoming presidential election? This is more attention than The Order of the Skull and Bones is used to receiving.

1. It is Stickers not Stikkas.

2. I wasn't a Sticker, try the other side. Many of my buddies were Stickers and we were open with each other about it all.

3. Martin's BBQ is a Sticker thing? It was just a corps/Cav/Bonfire thing.

4. The ring on your left hand does not identify a T or Sticker. A lot of people used to do that. Someone tried to tell me that one of my profs was a Sticker because of how he wore his ring. He was a non-reg.

5. Stickers and True Texans are in no way related to the Klan.

6. Neither have much to do with yell leader elections. If one happens to be running, then his buddies will help him out and that's about it.

7. Meetings were nothing more than hanging out together at a house or bar.

8. True Texan's have nothing to do with staying single. A lot of us are married, and our wives or girlfriends get into the camaraderie of the whole thing.

9. While being a member of such a group is elitist in itself, we don't act like we are better than anyone else. We don't walk around with an attitude problem like some would have you believe.

10. Despite what Lt01 says, we aren't trying to effect change. Frequently we promote it.

11. Despite what Lt01 says, we aren't doing this because we don't have any friends. Normally we select people that are already well networked and very popular.

12. Some people are very bitter because they were not picked.

13. The quad terrorist comment was absurd!

14. Army98, I'm pretty sure you know me. B.O.B?

Otter,
Yes, I saw people who were bitter because they were not picked to be an RV or to a command position. I never knew anyone who was bitter for an organization that no one would admit existed. No one walked around and said, "Damn, why couldn't I have been a sticker." Maybe they did, but I never saw it. Although I saw numerous cadets who didn't get RV completely change for the worse. Never saw that from a sticker canidate.

Maybe I am wrong in my ways I judge people's service and accomplishments. Maybe I should include organizatons that do no service, whose members are elitist, and are so proud of their organization, their members cannot talk about it. Maybe.

You see a lot of my beliefs and are the ones shared by many of the students in the corps. I guess it is the same way many non-regs lok at frats and the corps. If you could make your own friends, you wouldn't have to join a secrete organization. I could be wrong there however, you may have joined one regardless.

When you belong to a secrete organization, do not get offended when people attribute things to you that you do not do. If you cared about that, you wouldn't cloud yourself in secrecy. Sorry, I do not know anything about the TT's. No one talks about them anymore and honestly, no one cared in my class. We only talked about the stickers.

BTW, well networked and well respected are two completely different things.

I'd say you look like someone that it is bitter.

Trust me - Otter, and all of the others that I know - these guys didn't join something to make friends. They were selected in part because they were friends with everybody on campus. They were elite before becoming a part of something; not elitest because they were a part of something.

Army,

If you see that the bitter comment in Otter's post was directed towards me, then I will respond to it.

I am not speaking out of bitterness. All the awards I was given and the organizations I belonged to in the Corps were an honor. I achieved more than I could ever imagin in the Corps and I have never looked back at it. Primarily because I had a bigger challenge in front of me of leading men into war and because I joined the Corps as an after thought because I wanted to be a part of history of A&M. So, whether or not I belonged to an organization I didn't hear about until my junior year or even start talking about until my senior year really doesn't effect my life, then or now. I got leadership expierence from the Corps, oppurtunities to participate in great events, and friends that will last a lifetime. I got everything I expected out of the Corps and more with the position I held and the oppurtunities it afforded to me.

These organizations upset me because they run contrary to what the corps is about. The corps should not be about secrete organizations of "elite" people as you claim. It shouldn't be about who you know and what it can get you. You should get everything out of your own ability and go where that gets you. I didn't agree with nepotism in RV elections, and I don't agree with it in other organizations either.

This is not reality in the corps or even the army as I know. I am fortunately very good at what I do and have been rewarded for it. The fact that my bosses liked me and help advance me quickly is awesome, however, I at no time asked for these things. They did it because they were pleased with my performance, not because of who I knew or what organizations I belonged to while I was at A&M.

My current boss is a civilian Aggie who has offered me a job after I get out of the Army. He was not in the Corps, not a sticker. He is part of the only network i care to be a part of. It is very non-secrete, very open and very identifiable to anybody. All you have to do is wear the ring.

It's Kala Kinasis, not Kala Kanasis. It means "graceful motion" in Latin. (hence, the danceclub origin)

I didn't read hardly anything past the first page. I can tell you a few things about secret organizations at A&M

1. The True Texans did not start out as a secret organization nor did the the Stickers/swastikas (either could be used). Their meetings used to be promoted in the batt.

In the early 1900's An organization existed called the Swastika Dancing and Social Club. Its even featured in the yearbook. Their symbol was a swastika inside of a small circle, with the circle inside of a triangle. With lines radiating out from the circle to the triangle. This was before the Swastika was a NAZI symbol

3. There was a KKK club at the turn of the century on campus, it was a joke check out their picture in the 1905-1910

4. The 50's saw the expulsion of a lot of students based on a policy that forbid secret societies.

5. Meetings do not occur in the dead of night inside cushing library on the third floor. There are lights on as part of the security system that protects the expensive collections and the alarm system is run by an outside company.

%. it was common practice for all cadets to wear their rings on the left hand. The school actually encouraged this as early as the late teens early 20's. Since most cadets were not married, they would wear their aggie ring on their ring finger till they were married

i can think of 5 secret societies that are currently active within the corps. four of those groups are just social organizations and all they do is hang out and drink.
i am sure there are more whos members actually keep it a secret.

There is a reason that the only dorm on the quad that has(or did have in my day) Big Red in its Coke machine is the one that has Corps Staff in it.

this is an old post, but...
quote:
I was on Corps Staff and the Ross Volunteers, but if there was a secret organization called the Stikkas (or something like that) it would most likely originate from one of the major groups I had little interaction with.

As a dead staff rat and RV, I have to say that you must have been incredibly 1) naive or 2) oblivious.

One of my fondest memories was at an RV drill comp. All the zips were there, including the Sticks. My RV dad was also a Squad leader and HATED the sticks (C-2 98 was in open war with them for some reason). He found a Big Red can and tied it around my neck. Since I was the Red Wood (tallest RV and thus at the very front of the formation for the non-regs) for 99, it kind of stood out. All the Stick Zips were glaring at me like it was my idea or something.

The best secret club on campus was the basketball team before 2004. You could have done whatever stupid secret sh*t you wanted to in the stands and no one but Watkins and the basketball team and that guy in the jester hat would have been there to see you.
