2. Uber, taxi, limo, or transit getting to and from La guardia?
None, and the cheapest answer also couldn't be easier.

Land at LGA and follow the signs for the bus. While you're waiting for the LaGuardia Link Q70 bus, buy week-long MTA ticket for $30.

Hop on the Q70 when it gets there. Get off at the first stop - it's Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and it lets you off right at the MTA. Since you've already bought your card, walk past the giant line of idiots realizing they need to buy a card.

Roll up the escalator and take the train into Manhattan. Make sure it's an Express train and you'll be wherever you need to in Manhattan in no time.

lol I was waiting for this answer. It is definitely the most frugal option

I did this once with 4 bags of luggage. Never again did it after that.

There was not an escalator last time I did this at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave

I love all the Rick Steves expert guides to Manhattan books that have been published in this thread.

#27. Get a shoeshine from Blind Willie at the Brew-Klyn coffee shop on 183rd street, he knows leather by touch so don't insult him by telling him what you're wearing or how you want it. Just sit back silently with your eyes closed and hand him the cash when he's done.

Also another cheap (free if you have an MTA pass) thing to do while you are out and about.

Take the 6 train downtown to the end of the line at the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall station. When the pa says end of the line/exit the train don't get off the train. Just sit tight and wait. To head back uptown the train will effectively make a uturn and in the process go through the old City Hall station.

The original City Hall Station was opened in 1904 and closed in the 40s and remained largely untouched since then. It has massive skylights, glass tiles, vaulted ceilings, and fancy light fixtures. They occasionally open it up for tours but those are hard to come by. This is really the only way to see it now and it's beautiful. I think they ended up closing the station because it was so close to others and something about the turn being to sharp to open the doors. It's something I do every time I'm in the city. It's basically frozen in time.

Here's a pic of the station during one of the tours

So crazy question, and I hate being so ignorant but not having traveled to New York in such a long time I forgot lots of the etiquette

Concierge says $178 all inclusive Escalade to the airport but bellman says $85

Why the difference?

Concierge said it's all inclusive meaning tip and tolls

Bellman…at $85, would that equate adding tolls and tip at end of the trip?

Make sure you sit on the right hand side and near one of the front cars for the best view.

I never knew about this, but I looked it up. I love going to historical places and imaging what life was like in simpler times. I guess that's why I enjoy Europe so much.

Usually works stuff for my wife which means a suitcase and duffle/backpack each. Sometimes there's an additional bag for swag if we can't ship it ahead. Sometimes we have to also carry a retractable pull up banner which is really annoying.

But even when I only have a single carry on and backpack, it's still worth it to not have to carry that stuff myself between buses, trains, and the like. I guess i'm a bit fancy.

What the hell are y'all doing in NYC with 4 bags of luggage? My last trip there was a week in early winter weather with 50 extra pounds of photo/video equipment, multiple jacket options, and a tripod - and that still all fit in a large backpack and 24" roller.

I was moving stuff back with me from my parents house that I hadn't moved with in my first trip

It's been years since I traveled in NYC. I always bought the daily pass and traveled exclusively by subway. I purposely kept several feet from the entrance to each train as I didn't want anyone to come out of nowhere and push me over into the tracks. Saw a lot of rats on those tracks.
