I'm sure there's some terrible Discord somewhere the GenZers use instead.

I am 51.
My first account lasted 20 years until a few weeks ago. I don't post often, but I have learned that staff doesn't like it when you critique their ability to evaluate talent. Either that, or they just dislike the word drivel.

First post was around 22 years old, now 38. I was a hot shot that had all the answers then, and I still am now. Death is imminent.

I remember when Face, Sex Panther and Ragnar ran the football board. Was one of the things that got me hooked on TexAgs.

Looking back it seems like peak TexAgs was around the Maziel era, just too many social media options for the Ags these days versus 15 years ago when this place was really the only game in town.
I'm guessing the other college boards have experienced a similar pattern over the years (or disappeared like a couple of horn sites).
r, so sorry

Maybe peak TexAgs, but orak GB was before Manziel. I feel like that's right around the time people started getting put in timeout for saying mean things, and everything went downhill from there.
All good points in your post. It's so easy now to find niche communities of shared interests or like-mindedness, that the give and take of message boards could seem pretty hostile and alien to someone who didn't grow up with them. And there for those seeking gratification or affirmation, there are other platforms where the likes on a random post will just dwarf whatever a top-level post garners on a message board.Quote:
I think the responsibility and even risk that come with posting may be a lot for younger people. Social media today seems to dichotomize people into producers and consumers of media instead of integrating people into a message board community.
