that's hardly a definitive statement into what was possible through negotiations of which that person wasnt a part of. That's someone being gracious.

PS, the families' full statement is worth reading, not just the part a dem sycophant found politically useful. Conversely, people who are outraged that we traded an arms dealer seem woefully unaware of what the CIA is, and what they do.

Thanks for posting the full thing, Ragnar. Their message really struck the right tone - joyful that Griner was being released, while at the same time despairing that Whelan was still wrongfully imprisoned.

Their note also mentions at the end the GoFundMe they have set up for Paul - it appears to be at https://www.gofundme.com/f/h9p9w-free-paul-whelan if anyone is interested in donating. I'm in no way affiliated with it, but it appears legitimate and might help bring him and his family some comfort, even if not his freedom in the near future.

Is she an idiot? Sure. But I'm happy that an American citizen is coming home after nearly a year of being used as a political pawn. I can't imagine how difficult it must've been for her.

"One of the most dangerous humans alive" that you likely didn't even know existed, much less cared about him had you known until today. He's an arms dealer. Sorry, I don't understand what the bold statement means.
I haven't read up on Whelan's story. Was he acting on behalf of the US when he was arrested, or was he just a "tourist" working on his own? If the former, then it's incumbent on the US to do what we can to get him home.
