How about don't break laws in other counties and not expect to get different penalties than you would in the U.S.? Especially a country that is at odds with the U.S. and is known for harsh penalties and labor camps.

The point being- instead of holding onto a great piece of bargaining potential and refusing to give up that leverage, which trump did, Biden gave up all bargaining power and leverage, giving Russia back an arms dealer and getting nothing of strategic or meaningful value in return.
It's better to make no deal at all (Trump) than to give up your leverage and position of value on a ****ty deal.
Sure this scores Biden woke points with his base....but it makes our country weaker and the Russians stronger getting their weapons dealer back.

Considering her defense was that it was a prescribed medication, that's unlikely.
I would be fascinated to be a fly on the wall in those conversations with her lawyer and now the debriefing on what she can/can't reveal etc.
