I never formally applied to get into A&M. I just drove to the campus admissions office one afternoon in late May with a copy of my transcript. I was accepted into the engineering school and got an apartment on campus that same afternoon. A week later, I moved in and started summer classes.

Unassisted double play from right field my senior year of HS baseball....against Churchill HS. Runner at first with one out, breaks for second on a hit and run, batter hits a Texas Leaguer to right. I'm breaking on the play to help cover second, got a running start to catch the ball in shallow right field. The runner who left first has already rounded second, I jog to first and step on the bag to complete the double play.
When I was a kid I had to have braces on my legs - my legs were actually strong but my back was as crooked as a politician. We used to rent out some rooms in our house and one day this nice young man by the name of Presley who played the guitar stayed over and played music while I danced with a broom. He said he liked my moves and was going to try them out at some of his shows.
I grew out of the braces and joined the army and got shipped off to Vietnam. Met a good friend who came from a shrimping family and told me everything he knew about shrimping. We agreed to start a shrimping business when we got out the army, but unfortunately he was killed in an ambush. I tried to save him along with my Lieutenant and others, but he didn't make it.
When I first got out of the army I found myself in Washington D.C. with one of my childhood friend at a base for the Black Panther party. My friend's idiot boyfriend slapped her and I lost it and beat the crap out of him in front of everyone. Afterwards I apologized for ruining their Black Panther Party.
My Lieutenant that I saved and I ended up starting the shrimping business that I promised my friend we would do. It was hard at first, but after a storm wiped out most of the other boats in the area, we were able to gain traction and grew large. We ended up with a fleet of boats, restaurants, and became a household name.
That's all I have to say about that.

Played football with Billy Cannon Jr. when his dad came down to duck hunt with a rice farmer I knew. He lived on several acres and about 10 of us played a game or two in the front yard every day over a three day weekend.
