Only animals dump their suitcase on the floor upon arrival

Because 99% of the time I stay in a hotel I'm so far gone I couldn't find the buttons to push on my phone anyway. Easier for someone else to just wake me up.

Followed closely by those checking out in person. Just leave - they e-mail you the receipt.

Takes me ten seconds to stop and tell them I'm leaving and throw my room keys on the counter. Then I know they can start cleaning the room early.
Early clean times mean earlier check in availability for someone else. I know that when I travel it's nice to be able to check in a little early if needed and go up to the room for half an hour to refresh.
But then again, I don't watch band videos and I'm a considerate human being.

bit of a surprise that a convention center type hotel isn't doing it.wbt5845 said:
Hilton Anatole in Dallas did not do daily room cleaning. I guess it depends on how you define high end.
This has been my experience as well, that if you ask for daily, they will do it.. I assume its due to staffing issues more than anything. Im not a slob so I don't need fresh sheets and towels everyday so not that big of deal.Sea Speed said:
A lot of hotels are simply only doing it upon request. Ibwas at 2 fairly nice hotels over the last week and both were this way.

My wife, even if we are only staying one night
I always check out and get a final receipt. I know they'll mail it, but on 3 straight hotel stays in 3 different cities I had hotels incorrectly add fees to my bill after I checked out (parking, restaurant). Having a zero balance receipt made the process of contesting the added charges easier.wbt5845 said:

My wife would put her clothes away even if we had an hourly room. It would be done before any other activities could even commence.Sea Speed said:larry culpepper said:

this happened at the cosmopolitan, we had a wrap around suite and there was this 'love box' on the shelf. We picked it up to read/look at the box.Burdizzo said:
Regarding check out, I like to check out at the desk too. I stayed in Vegas once where they had the snacks in the room. I picked up a can of Pringles to see if there was an RFID tag on it somewhere, then set it right back down where it had originally been. When we went to check out there was a charge on my bill for $6 for the Pringles can that I had only picked up.

I do if I'm staying more than a couple nights. Nice not having to dig around in the suitcase when you need clothes. Plus you can toss the suitcase in the closet and free up space.
