Damn....just reread some of my old dms from scimi and reb and ill be damned if they werent the kindest damn ppl on this entire board. Breaks my heart....makes ya think the ones struggling the most were the first to reach out to someone else struggling. Probably bc they could empathize the most. Damn....i wish i could have done the same for them.

My hope is that it will give his parents some measure of comfort to know that the man they raised had such a positive impact on so many lives.

The realization of it all is started to hit as well as the pain of his abscence.

Got to Chris much better when he moved to Memphis. We both changed jobs a little over ago and served as sounding boards for each other. We had talked about them visiting us in San Antonio. I'll miss you Chris but will see you on the other side good and faithful friend.

Reading the Ag community obit, one of the women made the comment about remembering how Chris made you feel after spending time with him and that's exactly what I told my wife when we were talking about him after I heard the news on Sunday night. I always came away feeling valued and that our friendship mattered after hanging out or catching up with Chris. I think a lot of people felt that way as the comments on this thread show.

I first met Chris when we were both living in New York. We got connected via Texags (or maybe Token?) and grabbed drinks after work one day and hit it off right away. We became fast friend and really seemed to appreciate each other's outlook on things. I was only in New York for another 2+ years after that, but we did a lot in that time - Aggie game watching at Characters, searched for good Texas BBQ in Brooklyn, Empire Steakhouse with Dermdoc, had Chris order spicy Indian food for this white boy, and chatted about work/life/whatever over drinks. I always looked forward to catching up in with him in College Station in the fall the last few years.

Chris was honest and direct in the best way. Generous with his time and knowledge, always wanting to help out. He was a good man. I'll miss my friend.

Damn Chris, just reading this and hearing the news. You were one of the best, most honest, most giving and conscientious guys I've ever met on the street. You made all of those NYAMC happy hours bareable. We haven't talked in years but I thought about you often. I hope you know how many of those Wall Street Aggie kids lives you impacted over the years. You left a legacy to be proud of. RIP pal.

Nah. We are mostly degenerate low-lifes (well, most of you people anyway), but Chris and Charlie were a pair of good souls who could make a quick and significant impact on just about anyone.
