Yes that's the same thing. Those guys ride around on 4 wheelers and follow the chopper. Once the chopper nets him everyone hauls ass to the deer, takes the net off, and ties 3 of his feet (not sure why 3, but it was 3 every time I saw it). Also put a mask (sock) on him

I guess because a deer can't get up and run away with only one leg. And the back two and one front one can be tied together on one side, but if you try to tie the fourth it might injure the deer laying on it.

I've heard a cat can't walk on three legs. Like a bird can't fly on one wing. Irish will know.
I don't know the real answer but if I had to make one up, I'd guess that it's so they can stabilize themselves once in the trailer so as not to crack / break their rack. That assumes a free front leg.

These just went across the ranch into a pen. They stayed on property. It is illegal to move deer right now I believe
Calf roping only ties together 3 legs as well.
Seems like a common method to restrain an animal.
Maybe with one leg free, the animal remains more calm and not go crazy.
