Lost power around 8 PM Sunday night. Power restored Tuesday afternoon.

Lost water midday on Sunday. Still no water. Melting snow and catching roof runoff to flush toilets.

I live in a fortress. Never lost power or water. Power means different things to different people.

For those of you that hated this experience, were you prepared? Firewood, Coleman Stove, Candles, Tons of water stored and the list goes on. Be a prepper from now on - it pays

Great point. Time to reexamine your family's safety plan, resupply and fix any gaps that were identified.

I lost power for 10.5 hours. Our neighborhood never actually had an outage, we were just part of the rolling blackouts. I was lucky that it was during the day and not overnight.

Lost power Monday morning at 2 AM. Got power back Wednesday at 4 PM. Still don't have water pressure. Have plenty of drinking water and I'm collecting snow for other water needs.

It does seem that in the Houston area, if you lost power, you lost if for 36 hours.

Power came on just after midnight. Was off for 80+ hours.

I was without electricity beginning 2AM Monday and was without for 45 hours just outside of West, Tx, spent most of Monday with a fire in the fireplace, then drove to my parents who had power the whole time.

Lost power mon morn.

Water back on today but boil only.
That's pretty worthless in a all electric house with no power.
A few hrs from day 5.
Wind chill is 10 degrees.
Almost out of 2nd handle of bourbon.

Doss, TX. Power dropped last Thursday at 3:00 pm. Generac ran out of fuel on Monday morning. No water or electric since then. Burning thru firewood to keep the house warm, using cactus burner to melt ice for livestock. So many heritage oak trees lost forever. the views are forever changed. We are safe, will head to San Antonio for the next week to start insurance claims, etc.

There are still 4,000 of us without power in rural Gillespie county. Power will not be restored for 3 weeks at best. There are 30+ utility poles laying on the ground out here.

Technically never lost water but had 4 faucets freeze up. Luckily I was able to thaw them and get them up again without breakage.
Got back home yesterday from helping some friends in the neighborhood and saw water spraying by my garage. Turned out to be the main valve for my sprinklers. Luckily the break was above the valve so I simply turned it off and everything was fine. Will fix it in a few weeks when Lowes/Home Depot get restocked.

I know of some out past Mountain Home that are in bad shape , too.

I'm on CTEC, in Kerr County, just south of the Gillespie County line.

I think I dodged a bullet. Only without power for 7 days.

I've yet to turn the water on to the guest house next to my garage. I mean, why? If I have busted pipes, it's not like the plumber will be there anytime soon.

I learned today that Fburg FD is giving water away if you need to haul water for livestock. That's a huge relief.

Did you get an email from CTEC concerning the March 9th meeting with the Board of Directors?

We are supposed to be having something like rolling outages around here for the next two or three weeks.

Not due to power issues, though. They have a crew in town going through and replacing power poles with some more study to withstand the next ice storm. So the power is turned off to wherever they are replacing poles for the next few hours.

They haven't reached my office, yet.

I did, thanks. And you can bet your sweet ass that I'll be using my 3 minutes at the podium to ask some very specific questions regarding what their infrastructure renewal program is.

In the Panhandle. Our power company in town is Excel.

We had one ice storm not too many years ago that brought down power lines for miles and took a week or more to restore power for many in the area. Even in town, there were those for whom it took a couple of weeks to restore power.

23.5 day outage is over. I can hardly wait for the board meeting on 3/9.
