Two failed marriages and I think I'm done. The last was final 7 years ago. Ive settled into single guy mode. Im 49.

I'm expecting the usual backfire since this is the general board.

Child support recently ended. 2 kids in college. One at A&M mostly paid by Hazlewood. The other at Blinn on scholarships. Right now I'm focusing everything "extra" on the Dave Ramsey plan. In the last six months I've cut my debt in half.

I'm the same age and have told my wife that if she got hit by a freight train or whatever, at this point, there's no way I would get married again.

There is absolutely no upside for a middle aged man to get married.

The only way it would make sense is if you got a mail order bride from some s/hole country. I think Eddie Murphy covered this in "Raw". (might have been "Delirious" but, you get the point)

best thing is for you to find a woman who is independent and yall just be bf/gf for the rest of your lives.

Ive known 3 "older" guys who have 20+ year relationships with their gf's but each couple agrees there is no reason to get married.
