Oddly enough I say "kiddos' about younger people all the time, but I never call my own kids that. Weird now that I think about it.

It will trigger many, but I used to work in the restaurant business so I know a lot of younger people who I consider friends now that I'm out of that business. When one of them accomplishes something I drop a "congrats kiddo" or something to that effect. I got called a work dad a lot.
