That's why it was so memorable.

For those not in the know, there were two major American wrestling companies in the late 90's - WCW and WWF. They were on TV at the same time on Monday nights in direct competition. The week of my video, the WWF was airing a pre-recorded show and WCW was airing live.

WCW announcer Tony Schiavone (under orders from WCW management) tried to spoil the WWF show, telling viewers not to bother changing the channel because Mick Foley was going to win the WWF title and sarcastically remarked "that's gonna put some butts in the seats."

It backfired. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of wrestling fans (including me) turned the channel to the WWF to see fan-favorite Mick Foley finally be given the title.

Watch below for one of the most boneheaded decisions in wrestling history:

I was at this game:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Roller_(American_football)

"In American football, "the Holy Roller" (also known as The Immaculate Deception by San Diego Chargers fans[1]) was a controversial game-winning play by the Oakland Raiders against the San Diego Chargers on September 10, 1978, at San Diego Stadium (now SDCCU Stadium) in San Diego, California. It was officially ruled as a forward fumble that was recovered by Raiders tight end Dave Casper in the end zone for a touchdown, ultimately giving Oakland the 2120 win. However, there have been differing interpretations of how this play should have actually been ruled, and it has remained a controversial play for fans of both teams involved. The NFL amended its rules after the 1978 season in order to prevent a recurrence of the play.
