I will post a serious post if allowed on this forum. I am a veterinarian that became interested in medical marijuana after several vets said that they had put old dogs with awful quality of life from cancer/arthritis, etc on marijuana and dogs got up, ate and had a few more months of decent life. Went to the panel on medical marijuana at First Meth. Church in Bryan few weeks back. Too long to discuss what was said here, but sure made me a believer that doctors should be able to prescribe marijuana for selected conditions in Texas which they can't legally. Only legal marijuana in Texas is for intractable epilepsy.
Father and son, Drs Grinspoon have many blogs on medical marijuana on the internet and good place to learn about marijuana's indications for medical conditions.
Also have learned that most folks around here totally shut down their brains when marijuana is mentioned even when say medical first. Guess I will start saying cannabis. I am doing my little bit to get medical marijuana legalized in Texas as it is in 29-32 states [depends on what you read]. Reported that opioid deaths are down 25% in states that have legalized marijuana.
lol you read some fake news (or made up your own stats)

According to our local police chief and DEA, when Colorado legalized cannabis, black market cannabis sales dropped, causing the cartels and etc to start importing more of the harder drugs.
Unfortunately our town does not have retail or medical cannabis stores, but we do have 50-60% of population addicted to some type of opioid... at least what I recall from the converation.
Cannabis helps reduces addictive behavior due to the Endocannabinoid system and how it affects the brains reward system (dopamine/serotonin/etc).
