Smokers are nicer, friendlier, better people than non-smokers, in my experience. This thread is more evidence of that.
the act of smoking cigs in the parking lot or in the smoker's corner is generally a social endeavor. Then they come back into the office and sit in your office smelling like an ash tray. Then the next person walks in and almost barfs because the smell has lingered. All the while the smoker has moved on and not cared about how their smoking habits are affecting others.reb, said:

Smoking is a tacky, trashy habit.
I wish all cigarette smokers would at least switch to pipes. They're cooler looking, generally smell better and are reusable.
It's 2018 and you still work at a job that lets people smoke on campus. Sounds like the joke is on you!Ragoo said:the act of smoking cigs in the parking lot or in the smoker's corner is generally a social endeavor. so yes. the selfish nature of a smoking habit makes them "better" people in general.

Seems like non-smokers are a bunch of fairies.
A little bit of secondhand smoke once in a while ain't gonna kill you.
Saw this very episode the other day...Martin Q. Blank said:sodycracker said:
Bad socially - you stink, you need to get away from people / situations to smoke, you hang out with other losers who smoke, you become fidgety in social settings when you can't use tobacco, non tobacco users avoid you like the plague, etc.

I do not understand smokers and smoking.
I watched it kill both of my parents.
Dad from emphysema, Mom from lung cancer. About 2 years apart. They were each about 65 when they died.
Dad quit cold turkey the day he got the emphysema diagnosis. The Dr. told him, "You have the worst case of emphysema I have ever seen, you're going to die a slow painful death." Dad said, "Well I just quit smoking", the Dr. replied, "sure, we'll see". Dad never touched another cigarette which I believe is why he was able to survive another 5 years.
Less than a year after Dad's death, Mom went to the Dr. and an x-ray showed something in her lungs. I was there when the Dr. told her it was cancer. She continued smoking and died about a year later.
I still have 3 siblings who smoke. I've told them that when they get cancer or any other disease related to smoking, I'll not be visiting them in the hospital. We all saw what it did to our parents and I refuse to watch it happen to my siblings who are still stupid enough to continue smoking. I don't want to watch them die of it as well.
I hate cigarettes and smoking. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.
