I'd like a political candidate who eschewed the normal Washington suit-wearing culture.

Unless his/her politics sucked, then I wouldn't like them.

This falls under the public speaker/presenter category on that long list (page 1) but the talking heads on the NFL pregames and college football wear *suits, oftentimes paired in a combination of jacket, shirt, and tie that makes you scratch your head and think, "who the heck thought that looked good?"

*I am aware that some of them wear shorts since viewers cannot see them.

Lol at Zuckerberg testifying in front of congress in his big boy suit.

Dude looked like some stupid kid dressed up for his junior prom.

I don't wear suits on a regular basis for work, but do for the occasional meeting. I work for a school district, and what drives me crazy is that our dress code for central office is shirt and tie, but not a suit. The reasoning is that our students need to see people in "professional dress." Okay, but first, nobody has shirt and tie as dress code except for waiters. Everyone else either wears a suit or is business casual. Two, students don't come to central office. And back on campus where students are at, they are having pajama day for STAAR testing or whatever. Of course, overall the district is conservative, and male teachers had to wear ties until two years ago and women were required to wear pantyhose six or seven years ago.

Anyway, I'd rather wear a suit without a tie than shirt and tie without a suit.

IT is even more lax. I work in cybersecurity and my CTO shows up in sandals and shorts.

Fake news. It is a great look. Especially when paired with a pair of pleated khakis and $50 pair of Kenneth Cole shoes from tj Max

Only if the tie/shirt is a combo pack that's some shade of aqua or turquoise.

Good choice. That shirt tie combo will let you wear a black belt with brown shoes and not clash

Hey OP, you forgot to mention your unprompted salary drop in defense of your Haggar suit

https://texags.com/forums/37/topics/2939848

Quote:

I own one suit (from Haggar Outlet store for about $100) because it's needed for weddings and funerals. I broke down and bought a sports jacket this year (my wife insisted) but haven't worn it yet.

IB4 LOLpoor - I earn a nice 6 figure income and live in a really nice DFW enclave - I just can't stand spending much on clothes, especially suits which I'd never wear.
