I was in a sub lease in this house one summer in Highland Village, north of Flower Mound. Well, one of the tenants I live with came home drunk and tried to parallel park in between my car and one of the other tenants. It was 4 of us in this one house.

Well it was about 3 am and this guy obliterated this poor woman's brick mailbox with his pickup truck trying to get in between two cars when all he had to do was drive up and pull over to the side of the street and park. There was plenty of room on the outside of our cars. You could have parked 5 cars on the outside of our vehicles; I am not sure what he was thinking.

Logic and drunken stupor mode do not compute.

I felt sorry for this woman.

I was also happy the guy admitted it was his fault and didn't try to blame it on me as I was the only black tenant.

Still patiently waiting on OP to update us...

No real update. We're having a street BBQ at my house in a few weeks. After all the neighbors get a few drinks in us, I'm sure we'll ask him about it. Stay tuned.

So he just bought this plastic one and slid it over the broken post. He's incredibly lazy and definitely not a DIY person. We are not in a HOA so that option is not available. I wrote the city but they said the don't regulate mailboxes as the USPS does that. I navigated the USPS site but could not find how to contact them about it.

Hey! I logged into Texags and saw a picture of my mailbox. I need to go next door and meet my neighbor. The dude has lived here a year and a half and is a piece of work.

See his SUV parked illegally on the wrong side of the street? He recently backed into my mailbox and refuses to fix it. I started to write to the city and complain but I reminded myself that writing letters to the city about a neighbor is a rotten thing to do.

I am a lawyer and in the process of filing a lawsuit against him.
