My neighbor's mailbox looks like crap. I just moved in 1 1/2 years ago and it was like this when I moved in. Apparently his wooden post mailbox broke off. So he just bought this plastic one and slid it over the broken post. He's incredibly lazy and definitely not a DIY person. He's a lawyer with several rental properties in the area so I know it's not a financial issue. He's a nice guy but just is lazy to even take action.
Any recommendations for how to make him think of fixing it correctly?
We are not in a HOA so that option is not available. I wrote the city but they said the don't regulate mailboxes as the USPS does that. I navigated the USPS site but could not find how to contact them about it.
How do you live with mismatched concrete, cars parked on the street, and that hideous tractor beam across the street? That guys hedges aren't even uniform height! Think of your property value!

Lazy Lawyer: Hello
PlanoAg98: Yes, this is PlanoAg, I live next your property on Anal St. I'm a bit of an introvert in real life, so this is hard for me, but I was wondering if you could straighten up your mailbox and if you need help I would be glad to help.
Lazy Lawyer: Sure, I can be over there this weekend.
PlanoAg98: Thanks. I was going to have to get really passive aggressive online if you didn't. What a relief! See you Saturday! I'll be out planning in which direction to mow the grass this week.
