Judging a team based on their first mid-week game of the season... genius!

This is going to be a fun thread to ttt.
It was an attempt to illustrate what happened at Olsen last night is not all that unusual in baseball especially in early midweek contest where new kids are getting their first chance at the D1 level and where the game is much more meaningful to one school than the other. The Ags found a way to come back from an early five run deficit to win. In some of the games listed above quality highly ranked teams found a way to lose despite holding late leads.Ragoo said:what do these games have to do with our squad going 12 innings with SFA? Because other teams shut the bed it is ok if ours almost does? Strange rationalization.jkag89 said:And #3Florida St. lost to South FloridaDadofEaston said:#2 Florida lost to Jacksonville. **** happensGood Aggie Hunting said:
12 innings is ridiculous against SFA....
#5 LSU lost to New Orleans
Defending National Champs #19 Coastal Carolina lost to St. John's
Mississippi St. gave up 10 runs in the 9th to lose to Morehead St. 13-8
**** certainly does happen in early midweek contest.
Yeah, I remember the first time I ever watched a baseball game, too.Good Aggie Hunting said:

Don't worry guys - Ragoo is just trolling. Right, Ragoo?
Exactly, if anything it will help the team with confidence. They faced adversity and handled it to the tune of nine shutout innings by the bullpen and Olsen Magic. Gave the young players a taste of a walk off win, so when its tied 1-1 in the ninth vs Miss St later in the year they've been there done that. Martin faced serious adversity. Handled it, then came back dominant. Obviously you want to blow them out but you find the positives of the game, which there many and move on to Pepperdine.jkag89 said:It was an attempt to illustrate what happened at Olsen last night is not all that unusual in baseball especially in early midweek contest where new kids are getting their first chance at the D1 level and where the game is much more meaningful to one school than the other. Don't forget to never make a negative post on the baseball board. That is a highly sensitive bunch over there. Also this same justification as SFA will be used on that board when we lose in supers or regionals this summer. "That is the way baseball goes."
