I know! I'm so entitled right? After this thread, I know everybody thinks this is me.
That's ok though. You know, it was an exciting day for us. We were looking forward to changing our names (as most couples are...whether that's hyphenating or one spouse taking the other). It was sad to be told we couldn't do that. If some of your wives were told they couldn't take your name for whatever reason at the DMV, they would have been bummed too.
I knew that couldn't be the right answer. I was hoping someone here could help us out. I didn't know if there was some law on the books that said you had to put the hyphenated names in a certain order. I had never seen anything like that. I knew what the guy was telling me didn't sound right, but instead of causing a scene or even asking to speak to a supervisor, I just quietly walked away. But because I posted it on TexAgs, some people on here seemed to think I wanted to call TV stations and play the gay card. I just wanted someone to explain it to me. We happened to get the correct answer at the window my wife was being assisted at. The woman was helpful and actually seemed to know her job.
The most offense I took to anything yesterday was being called a liberal. I take great offense to that. I'm actually a gun-totin', beer-drinkin', Texan-lovin', Hillary-hatin' girl. But it is really easy to denigrate people you don't know on a message board. I know that is the General Board way, but damn people. I was just looking for help. I know where not to go next time. I was hoping Aggies could assist me.
