A better question might be "have you ever been in a situation where you needed a firearm to defend yourself, or in retrospect you wish you had a firearm to defend yourself?"

Many people have been victims of crime. That said, many more people have not, but it is not like there is some obligation to be victimized once before taking steps to protect yourself.

Most of us will go to great lengths to avoid being shot, I suspect, which is what makes Paxton's comments today so ridiculous.

Stabbed, but not shot. Saw the knife coming and stuck my hand up and was stabbed in the hand.

Got shot in the forehead with a BB gun.

Shot with a firearm? no

Shot with a pellet gun and had to cut out the pellet under the skin? yes

Been peppered with shot while dove hunting? Not in a while but it happened several times when I was younger

Shot at, yes... Hit, no

Oh, and I have had a pistol pulled on me twice.
