If I'm on vacation, I'm not sure I want to get dressd up to go to dinner. Getting dressed up is what I'm trying to escape from.

We took the kids on a Disney cruise a few years ago. It was my compromise as I would just about rather be curb stomped by a barefoot midget as actually go to a Disney park. All in all, we had fun. The kids met all the characters and got pics. No gambling (sucked) but everything else was good.

Go on whatever cruise you want, OP. I've never been on Carnival and am probably past the point in life where I would find it fun. But, given the right circumstances, I might still roll the dice.

We've done a couple of Carnival cruises, mainly for the convenience of being able to go out of Galveston and also because it's a cheap way to take the kids to see some new places (albeit briefly).

We are looking at an Alaskan cruise for next spring/summer (no kids) and are probably going to go with Celebrity since we can get drinks, tips, internet, and some on-board credit thrown in for about the same price as a Carnival trip without all the perks.
you will want to spend the extra money or work to get upgraded to a balcony. We went on NCL out of Vancouver this past July and the inside passage was absolutely beautiful. I would also strongly consider an itinerary that take you through Glacier Bay.

We've had balconies on our last two cruises and it is a must have now. We aren't much for hanging out by the Lido pool, but more enjoy just hanging out on the balcony with a cold drink and a good book.

Agree on the Glacier bay itinerary, we are also strongly considering aft-facing balconies just for the better views.

Different strokes for different folks. We enjoy dressing up, going to the theatre, and nice dinners. Our next cruise will probably be one where you are required to dress up every evening and kids aren't allowed.

Considering we are in swimming suits or Bermuda shorts all day, its a nice change of pace.

Went on a 7 night RCL cruise last year. There were 2 "formal" dinner nights. We enjoyed them, but if you're not interested, you don't have to dress up...jeans and a decent shirt will get you in. You can also dine at the buffet room where you can wear shorts.

We did a Dsney cruise with the kids about 15 years ago. It was pretty good as I remember.

We leave Wednesday for a cruise to the Bahamas. It's an MSC ship, which I haven't seen mentioned here. It's one of those "rock star" cruises with Def Leppard and others. Looks like it's going to be pretty fun.

When we did Alaskan, my parents had port-aft corner balcony, then my brother and wife and wife and me had the next two balconies on port side. Open up the demising walls between units, and we had a good 80'-100' of balcony.

When it came to time to see the glacier at end of the passage, we were out on bow of ship, with 250 of our not so closest friends. It took two seconds to decide to go back to our balcony, and man what an improvement. Kick back in the chair and have a drink. Pictures without a bunch of other people in them.

We don't get dressed up. They make money off of us because we eat buffet or snack

We should have a Texags cruise on Carnival this summer. God knows we'd fit in with those degenerates.

Ive been on two Carnival cruises, each for 7 days. Made some awesome friends that werent swingers, and didnt see any trash. Maybe that means we were the trash.

I have been to just about every steakhouse, and the best steak I have ever had was on the res only steak restaurant on a Carnival ship.

Can we get your redneck extended family on said cruise and chronicle their adventures as part of a mini-series/documentary?

It would be fascinating to watch.

I think it could be a TexAgs production, even.

Yes, but will the internet "millionaires" pay for the lolpoors ticket?

re: the cousins:

They'd be the ones ordering extra plates of lobster and then stuffing them in their pockets to save for later.

What would be even better would be to get them on one of the high end cruise lines, maybe in the Mediterranean or something.

The possibilities are endless.

Just checked Carnival.com, the 4 and 5 day runs to Cozumel start around $400 (too much for those Itineraries IMO)

The shorter cruises are cheaper and thus attract more of the riffraff than the longer runs. I shudder to think what the crowd looks like on the 4-day booze cruise to that just goes to Cozumel and then heads home.

with your $cash and general dislike for the general population why not skip cayman next time and venture out to bora bora or some other more expensive remote location?

because I love Cayman and know where to go and not to go to avoid those knuckleheads

Ladies and gentleman...we're onto something. We're on the cusp of something that could be great and we need to capitalize on this. I'm not a planner...just simply an idea man. Someone plan some redneck Texags GB cruise and let's start booking ****.

I think Carnival has to be the choice because it's apparently the trashiest cruiseline and that's what we deserve!

Add in the pre-paid beverage package and we'll be in business.

Just looked up the rules on it...$50 per day and there are limits placed on drinks per day:

**Program allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hour period (6:00am-6:00am); once the limit is reached, the guest will not be served ANY additional alcoholic drinks.**

That's not an "unlimited beverage package"! That's a ****ing "15 limit beverage package"!!!

False advertisement pieces of ****!! They'd sell more booze if they just dropped the freaking price a little. $6 for a damn Miller Lite plus tip. Eat a bag of donkey ****s!
