If I'm on vacation, I'm not sure I want to get dressd up to go to dinner. Getting dressed up is what I'm trying to escape from.
quote:quote:you will want to spend the extra money or work to get upgraded to a balcony. We went on NCL out of Vancouver this past July and the inside passage was absolutely beautiful. I would also strongly consider an itinerary that take you through Glacier Bay.
We've done a couple of Carnival cruises, mainly for the convenience of being able to go out of Galveston and also because it's a cheap way to take the kids to see some new places (albeit briefly).
We are looking at an Alaskan cruise for next spring/summer (no kids) and are probably going to go with Celebrity since we can get drinks, tips, internet, and some on-board credit thrown in for about the same price as a Carnival trip without all the perks.

quote:Went on a 7 night RCL cruise last year. There were 2 "formal" dinner nights. We enjoyed them, but if you're not interested, you don't have to dress up...jeans and a decent shirt will get you in. You can also dine at the buffet room where you can wear shorts.

quote:When we did Alaskan, my parents had port-aft corner balcony, then my brother and wife and wife and me had the next two balconies on port side. Open up the demising walls between units, and we had a good 80'-100' of balcony.quote:quote:you will want to spend the extra money or work to get upgraded to a balcony. We've had balconies on our last two cruises and it is a must have now. We aren't much for hanging out by the Lido pool, but more enjoy just hanging out on the balcony with a cold drink and a good book.
Agree on the Glacier bay itinerary, we are also strongly considering aft-facing balconies just for the better views.

That's a frightening proposition

We should have a Texags cruise on Carnival this summer. God knows we'd fit in with those degenerates.
quote:Is that wrong?
re: the cousins:
They'd be the ones ordering extra plates of lobster and then stuffing them in their pockets to save for later.

quote:with your $cash and general dislike for the general population why not skip cayman next time and venture out to bora bora or some other more expensive remote location?
cruisers are trash...hate it when they dock in Cayman

Just checked Carnival.com, the 4 and 5 day runs to Cozumel start around $400 (too much for those Itineraries IMO)
The shorter cruises are cheaper and thus attract more of the riffraff than the longer runs. I shudder to think what the crowd looks like on the 4-day booze cruise to that just goes to Cozumel and then heads home.

because I love Cayman and know where to go and not to go to avoid those knuckleheads
but Bora Bora is on the list

Ladies and gentleman...we're onto something. We're on the cusp of something that could be great and we need to capitalize on this. I'm not a planner...just simply an idea man. Someone plan some redneck Texags GB cruise and let's start booking ****.
I think Carnival has to be the choice because it's apparently the trashiest cruiseline and that's what we deserve!
