When Michael is in Corleone, Italy and meets Appolonia's father at the outside bar, he asks Fabrizio to translate for him. Why? He speaks perfect Italian.

Maybe the dialects are so heavy it's hard to understand. Is Sicilian a totally different language? I love spaghetti

Took my uncle and his family to a great Northern Italian place over the weekend. Said it rivaled the one he used to take me to.

The dubbed "I talk to Barzini" annoys me a little bit.

He couldn't speak it perfectly talking to Sollazzo before he kills him.

Bingo. Came to post this. He is not fluent in it. That's why he switches to English during the convo with Sollazzo at the restaurant. You can even see the frustration in Michael's face before he switches to English.

Also, as soon as I saw the thread title I KNEW the Sonny and Carlo fight scene would be mentioned.

There are lots of movie flubs out there but the one that has always just irked the hell outta me are the bullet holes in the wall of the apartment behind Jules and Vincent in Pulp Fiction before the dude jumps out of the bathroom and starts shooting at them.

I can handle an accidental continuity flub here and there but this one was just so obvious and glaring, it still chaps my ass 21 years later.

ever notice that Frank Sivero (Genco from godfather part II, future consigliere to Don vito) is an extra in the fight scene? He was also in the wedding singer. I think it is funny he is an extra in Godfather I and had a decent sized role in part II

also, in godfather I, the horse head in the bed doesn't have a white spot on his forehead. They picked this head up at a dogfood plant (the actor in bed didn't know they were going to do this). They could've painted a white spot.

I can watch Godfather I and II over and over. I never get bored of it.

GF III didn't happen. If I bought the box set of DVD's, I'd open it in front of the cashier and pull out and smash GF III before leaving the store.

The Tree of Life is another one I couldn't get through. Pointless and boring. "So good" says critics. Though I enjoyed The Thin Red Line.

Heat. When the Tone Loc character says "This slicks no joke". It doesn't make sense.

The who movie hinges on the "slick" reference. Those of you who like the movie will understand.

He call's him "slick" because that is what "slick" calls other people. He was using his own verbiage.

Robert Deniro was supposed to play Paulie Gatto but got loaned out to another film as part of a deal to free up Al Pacino to play Michael. Thank goodness it worked out this way. Deniro as Vito in Part II is one of my favorite performances ever.
