This is a serious question. I'm looking for legit opinions, please restrain from joking.

I'm looking at possibly rushing. Are there any fraternities out there that you would recommend to me? Is there a fraternity that isn't just full of jocks and has some cool guys, that has a pretty good reputation?

Because you asked for an honest and serious answer and no one is giving it to you, I will refrain from joking and tell you this: Beta , KA and Fiji might as well be the only frats on campus. Don't join one unless it's one of those three. I hope it helps!

I taught a few Fijis that were stand-up guys. The delt was a really nice guy too.

If you want an honest opinion, of these three Beta and Fiji are alright. Beta does, or did, a philanthropy for paralyzed vets of which one of my friends from the Marines is - neck down. KA, though, is chock full of racists. I'd avoid them, unless that's your type of crowd.

if you are considering joining a frat, check out sigma chi, one of the largest and oldest fraternities in the nation with over 220,000 living members and over 130 alumni chapters worldwide. Here at A&M the philanthropy thats done is derby days in which all the sororities compete in raising money for the children's miracle network. The house is an actual Fraternity house and not a big house turned into a frat house or a barn like BETA. Also one of the three students that pitched the idea opened spoons up is a sigma chi.

oh and if you saw the Saints vs. Vikings, Drew Brees and Sean Payton are both Sigma Chis

not in a frat, but sigma chi as jmg said have some pretty cool guys. one of the dudes was an engineer and had a pretty good gpa, i was impressed

Isn't Sigma Chi the one who had the house out in the country a few years ago, and they completely busted their septic system and ruined the house that the UH chapter built for them, to the point where the place was unlivable and they were evicted??

no it wasnt, oil was struck in the early to mid 90's in the old house which set up the funds to build the current house on fraternity row
