I didn't say that XP is DOS-based, I said I like it better than the DOS-based Operating systems.
Of course, that leaves open the argument for what it means to be "DOS-based".
Depending on how you define the term, you might be able to argue that NT is not DOS-based.
But I think that if you consider NT to be DOS-based, you must also consider XP to be DOS-based.
Personally, I think DOS was the best OS Microsoft ever wrote. It wasn't very advanced by any means of the word, but it worked fine and with much lower overhead.
