Users have been scammed when someone calls or emails them (if they posted their info) and claims they are a particular user on TexAgs when they are not. The best way to combat this is to start the interaction via PM; that way you know for sure what user they are.
Then, I would check the profile to determine:
- Do they have an AgTag (not 12thMan Foundation donor)
- Does their account have sufficient history (>1yr) and normal posting behavior
- Do they have a subscription (yes, if they PM'd)
You can view their profile by clicking on their username in a post, or you can go to
your own profile, and then use the user search down the left side of the page.
You are, of course, free to not use any of these filters as you determine who you want to deal with, but I would be suspicious and vet the person even further if they don't fit the above criteria.
