Just an all encompassing thread for all the events over the next 2 weeks. The Olympics are my favorite sporting event behind the World Cup.

We love it too. Looking forward to watching the prime time coverage each night and hopefully some live events. USA curling team is on USA network right now.

Curling would not be my first choice but...

London 2012 is still the best and one because it was simply a cultural highlight. Then everything went all crazy artistic and odd for what is a sporting event

For pure spectacle, I don't think Beijing 2008 has been topped. Although making the performers wear diapers so they could practice for 12 hours without any breaks was probably a little bit extreme.

Truly, this is very classy. I remember the Paris ones were pretty tacky at times the way they brought the rings up was super cool.

Kind of funny that they're doing the parade of athletes as a Milan cat walk. But hey, it works.

I was still remember those drums. There's also a very funny episode of South Park that dealt with that at the time. When the show was still funny.

I must've missed that part, but I thought the coming together of the rings was really cool. Really pretty stage.

My wife and I flew to Vienna to see him for her birthday. Just a fantastic concert

And I'll be shocked if he isn't at the Closing ceremonies singing Time to Say Goodbye.

My granddaughter, Avery Krumme, is in 4th place going into the finals in Women's Freestyle Slope. She is the lone American Team member to make the finals and is only 17 years old. Rooting for my girl to make the podium! Gig'em!

Vonn crashes a few gates in, looks like another leg injury. Skiing without an ACL does not work out. Another American, Breezy Johnson, is currently in first.

Props to the Austrian dude for winning gold in snowboard racing, then tearing off his shirt and lying down in the snow. That's the kind of commitment to winter that our US athletes need to emulate.
